Everbuild Roll & Stroll Hard Surface Protector – Self-Adhesive – Totally Waterproof – Transparent Blue – 600mm x 25m

I have used this floor protector on three occasions with mixed results. It all depends on the floor surface. On a laminated wood surface that has not been oiled or waxed after installation it adheres well and stays in place. Not so with a floor that has been treated as it is difficult to stick down and, if it does initially, will loosen while working. This is not a fault of the product, just the wrong choice for the flooring. So if used on a suitable surface it a brilliant product, adheres well and is relatively resistant to damage but if it is holed it can be resealed with masking tape. I use blue masking tape to cover gaps around doors and skirting which sticks easily to its surface and stays in place throughout. In use it is so easy to brush and up plaster debris, etc., with a dust pan as you work. Paint drips are easily seen and wiped off. When laying, do not discard the cardboard tubes it comes rolled in. When finished decorating roughly sweep up debris and use the cardboard tubes to lift off the floor by rolling back onto the tubes (sticking side to the outer side). As a result you trap any dust and do not end up with loads of loose bulky plastic waste. No adhesive residue remains on the surface as it is more like a dry tack that clings and does not stick to your hands. Quite expensive to cover a floor and single use but well worth it if you are a messy decorator like me.

I used this to cover a living room + hallway floors (laminate) that had been layed prior to moving in to our new home. Does it stick? Yes, so long as the surface is dust/debris free. Easy to apply, as you stick an edge down and push the roll in the direction you want to cover. Overlaping by 5-10cm will secure each run to one another, it will stick to itself better than a floor, but can easily be peeled off itself losing none of its sticky. If an edge refuses to stick, use masking or frog tape to secure that edge. Temperature will effect how well this stays stuck to a surface (because plastic sheeting shrinks and expands in cold and hot) so you will want to walk over this to really secure it down. I would recommend 3 or more layers for heavy use walkways. Is it worth the money? Well one roll of this or damage to £300 worth of flooring.

This is a great product. Protected my floors and went really far. I knocked off one star because it's that sticky it sticks to itself when rolling out. Solid product though

I recently used Roll and Stoll carpet protector, which for me, was a fantastic product that completely fulfilled its promise. As such I gave it a glowing review. On the basis of my experience with the carpet protector, I purchase the Hard Surface protector to protect the hard flooring in our lounge whilst I decorated it. Unfortunately, this product, for me, was absolutely useless and a complete waste of money. The ground floor of my house is fitted with Amtico hard flooring, which essentially comprises hard, interlocking vinyl planks that have a woodgrain textured surface. The Roll and stroll hard surface protection film just wouldn't properly adhere to the textured surface of my flooring. As such, although I managed to get some strips down, it was awful to apply and soon lifted with the minimum of provocation when walked over. I even used a wallpapering brush to smooth it down onto the floor and brush out the bubbles - but to no avail - it still refused to stick down properly! So whilst it might be ok when applied to totally smooth and shiny hard surfaces, be warned! If you have textured hard flooring like mine, this product will not work, regardless of how hard you try. Avoid at all costs

Wasn't easy to use at all... Stuck together quite a bit and had a lot of wastage.

We used this to cover all round the edges of a room on an oak floor. There is a knack to laying it down, and it is easier with two people. It is low tack so you need a lot of contact with the floor to stop it moving, so the first bit is tricky, and easier if someone else stands on it where you start. The recommended broom technique worked well, once the start is down you push the roll out and smooth it with the broom as you go, the more you walk on it and brush it onto the floor the better it sticks. Once down all around and walked on regularly it seemed to stick down much better. It was hard to get a perfect edge without a gap, so we used a strip of masking tape to cover any gap between the Roll & Stroll and the skirting. It was much better for working on and putting you steps on that lumpy dust sheets, and no chance or stray gaps appearing. It is still in place, so will update on how well it lifts , but I don't think it will be an issue. It can't be reused of course, so rather wasteful, so we only used it around the edges of the room. I can imaging that a less smooth surface would be more difficult to get it to stay put.

We used this to protect a hardwood floor when we had kitchen appliances installed. Easy to lay, easy to remove, no residue. Good purchase.

I was after something to cover some worktops in the kitchen for a week. This was perfect and performed well being resilient and sticky enough to last without any issues. I found it almost impossible to apply without creases but fortunately that was not an issue for my application. around the sink area I made the mistake of not drying the surface properly so it did not stick to the slight dampness and did not allow it to dry but for my application this was not an issue. When I came to remove it after a week it was easy and clean to remove. I was even able to save most of it and use for some other applications. The role had more than I need, I am very pleased with the product and should I need more will absolutely buy again.

Does the job but would rather it rolled back on itself so the sticky side is always protected
