Because the bristles are loops, it has a larger surface area to exfoliate the scalp when it is rubbed against the scalp, plus because of the closed loops, it doesn't tangle your hair when brushing back and forth the way an ordinary brush with straight, non-looped bristles would do. It's very lightweight and worth it if you're looking for a good scalp exfoliator brush.
