With innovative design and technology, we enable delightful simplicity. Our strong steel pedal is engineered to last over 150,000 steps — that's more than 20 steps a day for 20 years — while specially designed dampers open the lid smoothly, then ease it down gently for a soft, quiet close. Neatly sort your rubbish and recyclables in this dual-compartment recycling bin. One side for rubbish, one side for easy disposal of recyclables. It makes eco-friendliness very space-efficient. The internal hinges allow you to place this bin right up against the wall without the lid bumping, and with the stay-open lid feature, it stays open as long as you like — perfect for longer chores. ## Features - DUAL COMPARTMENTS SORT RUBBISH AND RECYCLING AT THE SOURCE: Two compartments side by side let you separate rubbish from recyclables — no second bin needed, no sorting later at the bag. - STAY-OPEN LID HOLDS WHILE YOU UNLOAD: Lid stays open while you scrape the cutting board or empty a full bag — closes silently with a light tap. - REMOVABLE INNER BUCKETS MADE FROM 100% RECYCLED PLASTIC: Both buckets lift out for quick dumping and rinsing — no hard-to-clean corners, no residue buildup. - 150,000-STEP STEEL PEDAL BUILT TO OUTLAST 20+ YEARS: Engineered for over 150,000 steps — that's more than 20 steps a day for two decades of busy kitchen use. - LID SHOX QUIETS THE BUSIEST KITCHEN: Patented motion control delivers a slow, silent close every time — no slamming, no banging when the room is moving. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B001BVH794 | | Best Sellers Rank | 59,220 in Home & Kitchen (See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen) 30 in Waste Separation Systems | | Brand | simplehuman | | Capacity | 46 litres | | Colour | Brushed Stainless Steel | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (4,650) 4.6 out of 5 stars | | Finish Type | Stainless steel, fingerprint-proof, brushed, steel | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00838810006826 | | Included Components | 10 Year Warranty, Pedal Recycler, Liner Trial Pack | | Item Dimensions L X W X H | 19.8L x 12.8W x 25.7H centimetres | | Item Shape | Rectangular | | Item Type Name | CW1830 46L (30,16) Rectangular Pedal Bin, Brushed Stainless Steel, W 50.3cm x H 65.3cm x D 32.5cm | | Item Weight | 7.98 kg | | Manufacturer | simplehuman | | Material Type | Stainless Steel | | Opening Mechanism | Step-On | | Product Warranty | 10 year | | Recommended Uses For Product | Cooking-heavy households with daily rubbish and recycling output, Daily kitchen routines for families that recycle weekly, Households committed to separating recycling at the source, Open-plan kitchens with a clear-view sorting station, Premium kitchens with stainless appliances | | Room Type | Cooking-heavy households with daily rubbish and recycling output, Daily kitchen routines for families that recycle weekly, Households committed to separating recycling at the source, Open-plan kitchens with a clear-view sorting station, Premium kitchens with stainless appliances | | Special Features | Strong Steel Pedal, Silent Soft Close Lid, Stay-Open Lid, Non-Skid Base, Inner Buckets | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Upc | 838810006826 | ## Product Details - Easy clean. No more smells. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 18 November 2023* Perfect size. Simple pedal design with a soft close lid. Lids locks open for easy emptying. Even comes with free sample bin liners. The two bins are the perfect size compromise for the amount of space it takes up and the volume of trash/recycling it will hold. The best bit is the Simplehuman bin liners. They fit perfectly, they’re strong, and they’re cheap. I ordered refills from the Simplehuman website and they arrived post free for less than I can buy standard liners from the supermarket. The bin itself is beautiful quality. You like German engineering? This is right up there. Good, no, great quality stainless steel outer skin and lid, resists finger marks and wipes clean in an instant. The pedal mechanism is reassuringly robust and it just works. Not many things are teenager proof but they haven’t managed to kill this yet after a year. The base has wheels at the back for easy maneuvering in tight spaces. The lid fits perfectly so no smells creep out overnight to stink out your kitchen. The plastics are kept to a minimum but what is used is super high quality and shows no sign of wear. One wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and it looks brand new again. Very smart design that will look great in even the most high class kitchens.6 stars all round. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Expensive but worth it for classy kitchens *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 23 November 2016* Absolutely love our bin. Have had ours for around 2 months now and no issues. We also enjoyed using the bags that come complimentary with the purchase but the bin easily fits all other bags as well. The fingerprint-proof technology has definitely proven itself, the bin has been easy to maintain and the pedal has not broken, doesn't scratch the floor and is very gentle. We are so happy with this purchase, although most people don't think much of buying bins, it does add a nice touch to the kitchen. It is a little pricey, but I've been through many kitchen bins before moving from houses and rentals and I can say it is worth it if you want something that is of great quality, will last and adds to the look of your kitchen. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very functional *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 1 May 2023* I am very pleased with this bin, I've always had a single compartment bin before and worried the narrow side would be too small on this but it isn't. It's fits the General rubbish very well and I find I'm recycling more now too as before I must have been avoiding certain items. The pedal function works great and you can slide a clip to keep the lid open if needed. I also think the design on the inner bin tubs are great. They have air vents so your bags cannot get stuck by vacuum forces so removing full bags is now very easy. The recycling side you can just lift out and take to the outside bin and reuse the liners multiple times! Great buy. With the money. ## Frequently Bought Together - simplehuman Rectangular Dual Compartment Recycling Kitchen Step Trash Can, 46 Liter, Brushed Stainless Steel - simplehuman Code V 60 Count, Genuine Custom Fit Liners, Drawstring Trash Bags in Dispenser Packs, 16-18 Liter / 4.2-4.8 Gallon, White - simplehuman Code H 60 Count, Genuine Custom Fit Liners, Drawstring Trash Bags in Dispenser Packs, 30-35 Liter / 8-9.2 Gallon, Blue --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/48681871-simplehuman-rectangular-pedal-recycler-46l-dual-compartment-kitchen-rubbish-recycling](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/48681871-simplehuman-rectangular-pedal-recycler-46l-dual-compartment-kitchen-rubbish-recycling) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
