Review: Great sander if you already have the Power4all batteries. - Be aware this is a bare tool - it does not come with the batteries! (although 2 batteries, a charger and a hammer drill with case is available from the orange DIY chain for just under a hundred pounds at 19.09.12) This is a great little sander with an extending forward section to get into small areas most sanders won't. Only had this sander a few weeks but first impressions are positive with both the sander and the sanding packs I bought at the same time really helping sand some teak chairs with tightly packed wooden "spokes" being done in minutes where I could not get my old sander nor easily get a block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around it. The batteries have been lasting about an hour (they are about 6 months old and have been used many times on a Power4all jigsaw and hammer drill) and the power is at least as good as my old Black and Decker mains sander. Positives Reasonable light Really like the fact you can get into tight spaces Has extractor Versatile in handling and being able to take away from mains due to being battery operated. Negatives Only that it works out expensive if you don't already have the batteries. If you have the batteries and need a sander - this is an excellent product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice device but watch out for compatible batteries

I own a few a few Bosch devices that take the 18V battery system, so I assumed this sander would be fully compatible. Unfortunately it is not. All of the 18V Bosch batteries I owned were the 4.0Ah size, which fit my drill, strimmer and lawnmower, but are not slim enough to fit in the gap for the battery on this sander. You will need to get hold of one of the smaller 18V batteries, at most 2.5Ah, which will fit. They aren't particularly cheap, even if you go for the lowest capacity 1.0Ah 18V batteries. Note that there is such a thing as streamlined 4.0Ah battery in this system, but I haven't seen them being sold on Amazon (yet) and the sander manual specifically says not to use ANY 4.0Ah batteries with it (it doesn't say why - I would have thought it should be fine but my track record with assuming things about Bosch 18V batteries isn't great). The sander itself is fine. It's no good for heavy duty work but if you need to tidy up some rough edges or take off a thin layer of paint, it's fine. I think I would have preferred to have the wired version, especially now that I am forced to use a battery that won't last as long. It would have been much cheaper too. Ergonomically, this tool has its issues. With a battery installed, it is a little heavy, plus the grip is not that comfortable to hold for long periods. This really is geared towards small, quick jobs. I wouldn't say it is that powerful so you may be forced to use it for longer than you want to. However, it is sturdy and looks like it should last for a long time. All said, I have no buyers regret. It does what I need it to do. Having to buy yet another, smaller 18V battery to fit this was annoying but I can use that with my drill and other Bosch tools so it's not the end of the world.
