The barrier may be against a dressing such a sticking plaster for example that can cause irritation of the skin otherwise. **Q: Can this be used directly on an open wound to help seal it and stem bleeding** A: No this is Barrier Cream to be used for sore skin and protection from adhesive trauma/friction.
