Wilton Dessert Decorator Plus, Cake Decorating Tool, 28 x 5 cm diam (11 x 2 in dia), 4 tips included

I'm a novice cake maker and really wanted to take things a step further without embarrassing myself too much with the decorating side of things. I read all the reviews on here and this item seemed to be the one which best suited my proficiency. So with the help of Mary Berry's book I got to work and made her fairy cakes. So far so good. Then unpacking this little beauty was a bit scary, but I do recommend you read the item instructions. So with the fairy cakes, I used the long nozzle and filled the cakes with seedless strawberry jam and then using the star nozzle, decorated them with butter icing. Ok, so perfection comes with practise, but for a first attempt my family were pleased at being my guinea pigs, but tbh, I'd give it 5 stars just for the fun factor. Just to create and decorate something from the ordinary was very rewarding, simple to do and fun...my family are very pleased that I'm so easily pleased. It all worked exactly as it said it would and I'm now looking forward to trying out the other nozzles on other recipes.

I'm a beginner. I've struggled with piping bags. I can never seem to fill them properly. Then they splurge 🙄. This is much easier to fill I found. I like the fact too, that further down the line if I wish, I can buy more nozzles separately too. There are more parts (obviously) than a piping bag. So it is a bit faffier to clean by hand. However, I just chuck it in the dishwasher and it's fine. There is also slightly more waste of buttercream than would be with a piping bag. But it's not a lot more. Warning: Do not screw the coupler on too tight or it will split a little 🙈. A few more nozzles to come with it would have been good. But, for the price I'm very happy. In fact, I ended up buying one for the mother in law too 😊.

My 12 year old daughter loves making cup cakes but she cannot use the traditional piping bags as her coordination in her hands is not 100% perfect which is why we decided on this product. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it. My daughter can now finally make cupcakes!! Because it is made of plastic It is much easier to clean than a piping bag. The piping bag never really felt clean after washing it but we have used the Decorator Plus many times and it's as good as new. To fill the Decorator Plus, we found it easier to place it into a tall glass, so you have your hands free for transferring the icing into the tube. To transfer the icing we used a tea spoon with a very long handle as obviously the opening is not as wide as a piping bag and the long spoon enables you to push the mixture down. We only need to fill it twice to make 12 cupcakes. I have just brought a cake pop maker for my daughter and will use the Decorator Plus to put the mixture into the maker.

I’m new to the icing task and wanted something easy and not complicated to use. I tried the bags and I’m not there yet. This device is like a syringe it is so easy to use and my results are getting better with practice. It all comes apart for easy cleaning. I absolutely love it. In my opinion it is great value for money and strong enough to push the icing out. Hopefully I will perfect my icing skills thanks to this great product

I liked the idea of this as it seems less messy than a piping bag. Overall it works well. Mine however has broken after only a few uses - the top has snapped somehow and you need to push this down for the icing to come out of the nozzle so is useless. Hopefully just a one off. Am considering ordering again and hoping mine was just dodgy. Would've rated higher if it had lasted longer!

I’m fairly new to decorating and found this tool so helpful. There’s lots of piping nozzles so you can make loads of designs. One issue was every now and again the icing would pop out and ruin the pattern, easily fixable with a knife though. Think how easy it is to clean depends on the icing you use as I used a chocolate butter cream which I struggled to get out of the tube, could be the cream rather than the product itself though. I definitely recommend this, it’s so much easier than a piping bag!

Found this just so hard to use. I firstly used it to pipe double cream onto my cake but after a few pumps the cream almost turned into butter, it turned too thick. So I used it for vanilla icing but just found it difficult to use properly. Really wish I'd used an icing bag. Too cumbersome and fiddly.

Definitely an improvement from the plastic pouches, yet I find it a bit hard to push, so the result is not as precise as I would like, but still good, especially being new at decorating.

This product is awesome! I wanted to provide gourmet cupcakes for a bridal shower, but I had never piped icing before. Ever. So I bought this and in the months leading up to the shower, I made a four practice rounds. I'm sharing the pics from the shower, which was only my fifth time using this product (or any piping tool for that matter!). I personally found that it worked best to insert the icing from the tip end with a very skinny silicone spatula. When I inserted from the non-tip end, I got more air bubbles. Make sure you pack the icing (I used buttercream) tightly or you will get air bubbles and it won't look as nice. This product worked fabulously! So easy! I love, love, love it and will use it every chance I get! The button that you push with your thumb gives you ultimate control to have a steady speed for the best consistency and finished look. Cleanup is a breeze and you don't have to worry about running out of bags. UPDATE: After using it about 10 times over 5 months, the threading around the top of the clear plastic tube cracked the whole way around and fell off.

Produto de qualidade inferior, dois meses que comprei e já está quebrando a parte que é de rosquear. Já tive outros da mesma marca e duraram mais de 5 anos. Infelizmente a qualidade caiu significativamente.

This is better than the usual cake decorator, being far more solidly constructed and quite a bit larger than the generic cheap made-in-China ones which are frustrating to use because the small size makes it both difficult to get icing in and requires frequent refilling. One reviewer pointed out that the trigger only moves the plunger about halfway down, this only happens if you do it when it's empty, once it's filled with icing the trigger moves the plunger all the way down.
