It's a fantastic quality natural (non alkalised) cocoa powder from roasted cocoa beans, with a lower /cocoa butter content of 10-12%. Cocoa/cacao is rich in polyphenols. Polyphenols are a group of -based microents and cacoa is classified as a flavonoid within the Polyphenols group. These flavonoids have antioxidant properties, in other words, they contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Cocoa/cacao also contains minerals such as magnesium, iron, potassium and zinc. Note that cocoa and cacao mean the same thing. Food marketers unfortunately promote the idea that cocoa is roasted and processed while cacao is raw when there is actually no difference. We supply this cocoa in re-seal foil pouches to maintain the quality and freshness of the cocoa powder.
