I think this hate is unjustified because it was never intended to be a sequel, just a bit on the side. All in all it's a very fun game to mess around on if you've got nothing to do and some of the game modes are great - destruction derby, figure of 8 track racing, and so on. For the cheap price you can't go wrong but admittedly I would be a little disappointed if I payed £30 or more.
