Jim Dunlop MXR Phase 90 Pedal

A criticism sometimes levelled at this Phaser pedal is that it is more expensive than the MXR block or script versions. The reason for this is simple, this EVH version is BOTH of those pedals in one. You are not paying extra for the paint job and endorsement you are paying for the versatility of two different Phaser sounds available to you in one. The script button swaps between the two different types. With only one control knob it may look at first glance to be low on features but rotating said control knob makes a huge difference to your sound and with the included control knob cover you can alter the setting level with your foot, a simple but really useful feature. I use this pedal before the overdrive (high gain) in my pedal chain with a relatively low setting (around 8 o'clock) In script mode and it sounds fantastic. The articulate way this pedal responds to your playing style gives it an 'organic' feel, clear and warm, harmonic, it becomes an integral part of the sound you already have even at relatively high settings, the sound is natural and musical. There really are no bad sounds within this pedals settings every sound is usable throughout its whole range your style and preference will dictate how you use it and not the limitations of the pedal and with the aforementioned foot cover on the control knob you can make level changes mid song, to go from soaring lead to whooshing special effects then right back again. Who should buy this pedal? Anyone playing any style of music wanting a good quality natural sounding phaser. This is not just for metal, although rest assured it does that style to perfection. Who shouldn't buy this pedal? If you try out an MXR script Phaser and an MXR block Phaser (the orange coloured ones) and are 100% sure you will only ever want to use the sound of whichever of those you prefer then you could save a few quid and buy only that version. I probably will only use the script setting on my EVH but for around £30 extra when compared to the price of a new script version, at the push of a button I have access to all the great sounds available in the block version as well, for me that was a no brainer but the choice is yours, what I know for sure is you will never regret owning this EVH version even if you only set it to one setting and never alter it again you will always know the other settings are there if you need them.

From the first time I plugged it in, me and my band members were in awe at the sound coming out of my amp. Simple to use, one dial makes it uncomplicated, and the EVH red white and black just look great on the board. Yes OK you could buy a cheaper Phaser, and yes the MXR Phase 90 is a little on the pricey side, but as with most pedals you get what you pay for, and I'm more than happy. It is also for me nice to have some Van Halen in the rig, because I saw the Mighty VH in 1980 and 1984 so here's to you Ed. Oh and it is worth mentioning that I'm not a heavy or hard rock guitarist, far from it, country, blues and rockabilly is my thing, but this pedal sounds great with single coil guitars and is not specifically designed for heavy use. And when linked in with other excellent MXR delay, reverb and tremolo, the results are stunning.

This pedal in script mode replicates early VH phase tones of the 70s and 80s. Playing the ain’t talking about love riff with the knob at 20% creates the Deep phase on the last 2 notes bang on to the record. Best phaser I’ve ever played, also housed in metal robust casing. A little pricey and that’s the only downside to this great pedal.

Wanted this pedal for some time . . . and was well worth the wait! I love the Eddie Van Halen's customised red, white and black artwork, it looks very nice on my pedalboard. (Anyways more to the point) . . . . theres the obvious input/output jack connections, a script button (to allow you to switch between two modes), the effect level and the on/off switch. The pedal is of very light weight yet feels solid as a rock. I tend to use it to its full tweak for my own stuff . . . I love it!

If you want a top quality phasing guitar sound for your amplifier and/or pedal board, Look no further and buy this Eddie Van Halen edition phaser! In my opinion, the MXR Phase 90 is best used in front of your amplifier and/or pedal board to achieve the most authentic sound. The simplicity of the speed circular control means you will find it hard to get a bad sound out of it, along with the script button which alters the mixing ratio between your actual guitar signal and the phasing signal. The script button (which is only available on the EVH Phaser) toggles between one of 2 states, mild phaser and apparent phaser, again, super simple and effective. While the price is a bit high at £128.00, you will probably not need to buy another phaser as this one is super durable and sounds amazing more importantly! It's a really good pedal and great artwork but I wouldn't say it's worth the extra money over a regular Phase 90 pedal. I think given its a £40 difference I'd stay with the normal phase 90 pedal.

Pris pour remplacer un phaser à 59 euros qui avait un son totalement anecdotique.Je souhaitais vraiment avoir le son van halen.Donc je branche ma bogner la grange avec le switch en mode brown sound delay et reverb et j’active ce phaser evh a un quart en mode script et la miracle le son d’Eddie van halen exactement le même son fabuleux cette pédales donne un gros coup de boost au tapping et arrondi les notes c’est beau sa sonne.

The EVH-90 is an absolute favorite of mine. I really like the red black and white stripes. Makes it iconic. If anyone wants that EVH tone, definitely grab this phase 90. A bit pricey, but that's just what signature models are

左上のスクリプトボタンを押し込まない状態でPHASE90のブロックモデル、押し込んだ状態でスクリプトモデルのエフェクトが得られるとこのことで、派手にかけたいとき、あっさりかけたいとき、それぞれに対応できるのがとてもよいです。これまで74クラシックを使用していましたが、ライブ演奏だとエフェクトが浅すぎて物足りませんでしたので、本EHVを購入してよかったです。なお、エフェクトON/OFFの音量変化、歪は素人の自分には問題ないレベルでした。また、エフェクトONのときに青色LEDが点灯するのは助かるのですが、少々眩しいのでテープでも貼っておこうと思っています。
