Is it still made in China? **Q: Is the rubber sanding block easy to grip for people with small hands?** A: I would say yes. However the problem with this product is that the nails that hold the paper are too long which makes it VERY difficult to change the paper. I don't even use mine anymore. It;s in the back of a drawer. I find the best sanding block is my 2x2 & 2x4 blocks. I just wrap the paper around & get after it. I hope this helps & good luck with your sanding!!! **Q: Lots of bad reviews is it as good as people say?** A: This is basic sandpaper, as reflected by the price. It is meant for bare wood sanding and the like. For a longer lasting paper, a different grade such as aluminum oxide paper, should be selected. There is nothing wrong with this paper. **Q: Is there a way to remove the smell from these or an alternative that lacks the stench?** A: The rubber is what smells. So unless you can find one that is made from alternative material, the smell well always be there. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Expensive but easily the best sanding block I’ve used! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 November 2025* Expensive, sure, but easily the best sanding block I’ve used. Others tend to slip about or leave the finish a bit uneven, but this one gives you much more control. It grips the paper well and feels solid in the hand, which makes a big difference if you’re doing anything beyond a quick touch-up.Surprisingly comfortable to use too, even with a bit of weight to it. The rubber gives just enough grip without feeling awkward, and it stays put during use. I’d happily buy another if I ever needed to, though I doubt I will any time soon given how solid it feels. Not the fault of Amazon, but didn't end up being delivered on time so ended up buying one from B&Q (and paying more). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 29 July 2026* Easy to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pricey but useful bit of kit *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 13 September 2022* Heavy rubber material to help make sanding easy and comfortable.Need to be careful when inserting sand paper because the nails the sandpaper locks into are really sharp. My only gripe is how expensive this is for chunk of rubber, guess your paying for the brand. Thanks ## Frequently Bought Together - 3M Rubber Sanding Block, 2 5/8 in x 4 3/4 in x 1 1/4 in - Milescraft 1622 – Sand-It Multi-Surface Sanding Block.
