Addis 515630 2.5 Litre Kitchen Compost Caddy, Black/Grey, 2.5L

I have to say I'm disappointed in this compost/tea bag caddy from Addis. There are lots of different makes of these available but I went for a name I knew. Unfortunately I can not recommend it. It looks lovely and the fact you can use with bags or without, because there is an inner removable bucket, is a great idea. It's a decent size and has a good solid handle to carry it. Unfortunately, there is no clip or catch on the lid and as you can see in the picture it means that there is a gap between the bucket and the lid, allowing flies and odours in and more importantly out! Certainly not what you want with compostable items in your kitchen. I would have returned this if my daughter had not thrown the packaging away.

Really happy I bought this compost caddy. My last one was the Oxo Good Grips one until the handle ceased then broke. This one is a different design, I went for the 3l larger size because it was a little bigger than the old one, the smaller version would have less capacity. I also like the colour choices and particularly this black and metallic one which looks really unobtrusive, and the black won't show up stains as much as a white one eventually does. I realised the first time I used it that the shape is also much better than the squarer one I had before, it is the perfect size and shape to be able to scrape the peelings off the chopping board and not miss! The lid comes off and then you can take the removable inner part out to the compost bin outside and the inner part is dishwasher proof so can be freshened if it gets smelly. Hopefully it will last as long or longer than the 2 to 3 years I had the last one.

Great kitchen top compost bin that looks smart and is easy to keep clean as it is plastic. It has a smallish capacity and will need to be emptied more often than the larger ones but it does have a smaller footprint as a result, I invested in a second one and they do stack quite well.

This is a really nice looking compost bin that ticks the boxes in terms of being able to wash it in the dishwasher etc. The only thing is that it doesn't close properly letting fruit flies in who all congregate around the bin. This has now become quite an issue and I wish I'd believed the reviews about the gap being a problem.

Looks great however not only does this not have a lock, the lid only rests on the top so smells can escape easily and if knocked over waste will be everywhere. A light touch locking mechanism cant be that hard to add

This is a great compact food caddy. It is big enough not to have to empty every day but compact enough so that you can find a suitable place to store it in your kitchen. I have experienced no issue with odour coming from it and the removeable bin section makes it easy to empty. The fact it is also dishwasher friendly means it is equally easy to clean.

Good size. Fits council bags. Robust. Easy to clean. Removable liner is sturdy and holds bag so it's not visible. Hard to say on eco credentials v brabantia, so one star removed for this and it's looks, which are ok but less appealing than brabantia.

Era lo que buscaba, ni pequeño ni grande, perfecto. Buena calidad y queda bien en un rincón de la encimera de la cocina.

Wir haben uns den Behälter gekauft, da wir einen gut zu reinigende Lösung wollten, die auch mit viel feuchtem Kompost (insbesondere Kaffeefilter) umgehen kann. Der Komposteimer hat genau diese Erwartung erfüllt. Er hat genau die richtige Größe, um darin auch mal größere Mengen an Obst- und Gemüseresten beim Kochen unterzubringen. Der Deckel schließt soweit man den Behälter nicht überfüllt recht dicht. Man riecht nichts. Nur die Fruchtfliegen gelangen leider weiterhin hinein. Dank des Griffs lässt sich der Behälter angenehm tragen und gut in die Biomülltonne/auf den Kompost entleeren. Manchmal bleiben Reste hängen, das lässt sich aber in der Regel mit etwas Schütteln oder etwas Anschieben gut entfernen. Meistens reinigen wir den Behälter von Hand, etwas Spülmittel, eventuell Essig und er ist im Handumdrehen wieder wie neu. bei Bedarf kann man die innere Schale auch aus dem Behälter leeren und in die Spülmaschine stecken. Das war für uns eins der Hauptkriterien für den Kauf. Leider lässt sie sich aber nur mit Geschick und etwas Mühe löse, sodass wir das kaum noch machen. Aber von Hand klappt es auch prima. Nach einigen Monaten im Einsatz stellt sie uns immer noch sehr zufrieden

Bellissimo! Ho acquistato questo prodotto per evitare di mettere i residui di umido nelle vaschette che lasciano prode e e sono brutte da vedere se si h anche gente in casa. È stata una scoperta bellissima e una soluzione perfetta. È molto bella nel suo design, pratico da usare, facilissimo da pulire e sopratutto anche per il pratico “servizio” compost.. i resti di cibo che vengono buttati, una volta dentro, nei giorni si sciolgono quindi può contenere tantissimo umido! Con il manico e comodo da trasportare e la chiusura é ben fissata. Lo consiglio
