Seachem Prime Water Conditioner, 50 ml

It’s Prime. If you’ve been in the aquarium hobby for five minutes or five years, you know this is the standard. ​It’s more concentrated than the cheap "blue bottled" stuff, so a tiny bit goes a long way. It doesn't just remove chlorine, it detoxifies ammonia and nitrites. It’s a simple, reliable product that works better than the rest.

I have only used it today, and my fish already seem happier. I was going to Fish-in Cycle my tank (I know it isn't recommended, but my fishless cycle wasn't going anywhere). I ordered Tetra Safestart from Amazon, and unfortunately it was out of date, and therefore failed. Luckily, I had heard about Seachem Prime and ordered it right away. The ammonia in the tank was already quite high - at 0.75 - 1.25ppm, and I was already doing water changes. I'm hoping that Prime helps, and so far it seems to be working. It also seems like great value for money, as the 50ml bottle alone can treat 2000 litres of water.

I bought two bottles of prime as I was nearly finished one that I had for years. I opened the new bottle and I got a bit of a shock. All the bottles of Prime that I have had in the past have been clear, this one, the liquid was black. I really didn't want to put it in my Goldfish tank but I had already half emptied it to do the water change. I went online before refilling my tank and read on a forum that somebody had the same issue and had contacted Seachem directly. Seachem said it was fine to use so I went ahead and a little reluctantly added it to my tank. Fish seem fine. I can't remember the whole response but it is something to do with the sediment in the bottom of the barrel (or whatever it is they mix it in) or something like that when they start a new batch and it all gets mixed up but it is totally harmless. That is what Seachem said, NOT ME. As I said I had to take a chance as I had nothing else and after I read what Seachem said I felt confident enough to go ahead and use it. My fish have been fine but it is up to everyone to make up their own minds if you get a bottle of black prime.

The "go to" dechlorinator of most aquarists. Also gets rid of chloramines (many products don't). Chloramines are increasingly in use in the water as they don't disperse into the air as chlorine does, which is great for the water company, but bad for our fish. So no amount of standing or agitation gets rid of them. Prime also detoxifies ammonia and nitrite, so very useful if you get a spike, and need to treat it. Highly concentrated, even the smallest bottle treats thousands of litres.

Uso Seachem Prime biocondizionatore per acqua dell’acquario da diversi mesi e posso dire che è uno dei pochi prodotti davvero indispensabili in acquario. È estremamente concentrato: ne basta pochissimo per trattare tanti litri, quindi alla fine dura una vita e costa meno di quanto sembri. Io lo uso ad ogni cambio d’acqua e non ho mai avuto problemi con cloro o stress dei pesci. Ottimo anche il fatto che aiuti a “tamponare” ammoniaca e nitriti in situazioni critiche, cosa che altri prodotti non fanno. L’unico lato negativo è l’odore abbastanza forte (tipo zolfo), ma sparisce subito e non crea problemi in vasca. Attenzione solo al dosaggio: essendo molto concentrato conviene usare una siringa o misurare bene. Nel frattempo che carica le foto riepilogo dunque.. In sintesi: prodotto affidabile, efficace e molto conveniente nel tempo. Una volta provato, difficilmente si torna ad altro. Con uno si questi di norma si passa un anno intero se non di più.

J'ai eu Tetra, JBL, etc, les grandes marques pour conditionner / purifier eau de mon aquarium, mais ce produit est le meilleur de loin. Cette marque peu connu en France, et moi-même j'ai trouvé sur internet par hazard après quelques recherches pour diminuer le taux de Nitrate et Nitrite. Depuis j'ai changé sur ce produit en mettant 3 fois plus de dose pour démarrer (il autorise jusqu'à 5 fois de dose en cas de nécessaire pour remédier le taux de Nitrite), le taux a vraiment baissé et arriver dans la norme. En plus l'eau reste plus claire plus longtemps. Pour les petites aquariums, le flacon de 50 ml est facile à doser (une goutte pour 2l de l'eau) et grand format très économique. Maintenant je utilise ce conditionner de l'eau avec Purigem pour filtrage, c'est vraiment au top! Les taux de Nitrate/Nitrite reste stable et l'eau reste très claire!!!

Para mim, é o melhor anticloro/condicionador do mercado. É extremamente confiável, rende muito e dá bastante segurança no tratamento da água do aquário, especialmente em montagens novas ou com animais mais sensíveis. A Seachem costuma ter produtos muito consistentes, e o Prime é um daqueles itens que vale ter sempre em casa.
