Ableton Push Controller for Ableton Live 9

This is a superb product which works wonderfully in tandem with Ableton Live 10 Suite. The result is a far more efficient workflow in my studio. It’s probably the best hardware I’ve purchased.

Ableton Push 2 is an excellent beast of a MIDI controller designed for users of Ableton Live. I have Ableton Live Suite so I thought this would be the logical next step, and I was right. The Push allows you to do most things in clip view via its screen and the knobs above each section. You can browse to the instruments you want, choose them etc, and manipulate samples using this screen. The 8x8 button matrix is good for sequencing and for playing like an instrument. The layout is very customisable - so for example in the chromatic layout based on 4ths it mimics the first 4 strings of a guitar. You may find yourself ditching a keyboard for this! As pad controllers go, the Push 2 is one of the most sensitive I've used, but this is customisable so if you think it's too sensitive you can turn that down in the setup menu. This is definitely for people who like to put together clips in clip view - in arrangement view it's fairly much without any application, but if you want to quickly get stuff together to then bring over to arrangement view, or if you're the sort of person who enjoys live finger-drumming or live playing straight to arrangement, then this works pretty well for the job. That said, if what you need is a clip launcher or if you work a lot with hardware synths, need a sequencer and don't want to use Ableton, I'd recommend the Novation Launchpad series. There's definitely a role for both in your collection I think.

Ive worked in production for 20 years, mainly with Logic and Cubase. recently I have been playing with live looping, using boss pedals. but the idea of Ableton sounded great, I have used it before but found it clunky to use in a live looping way compared to a looper pedal. But with the Push 2 that has all changed, its so intuitive, you don't have to look at the computer in a performance. the fixed length feature is amazing, the build quality is awesome, the screen is great and workflow just makes sense. It has become the most essential part of my set up in just a week after getting it.

Very competitive price and arrived sooner than estimated delivery date. Well packed. I will definitely use supplier again: Prohelmet. Great piece of technology at the leading edge of contemporary music technology. Would buy again.

Oozes quality. Still lots to learn but looking forward to it all. Well worth the investment in time and money.

Great piece of well built kit that really improves your work flow

It maybe exspensive but it’s worth every pound spent my one issue is lack of manual but the Ableton site covers everything you need too knowv

Tried to register the product using the serial. Got this back from ableton - "We can confirm this item was marked as a warranty unit, meaning the device was supposed to be sent back to our warehouse by a store that claimed it does not function as normal. It's not easy to tell how it got on Amazon, as the store listed in the screenshot is not the store that reported the warranty claim, but we would suggest returning this item, as it should not be in circulation. Si vous êtes fan du logiciel de MAO Ableton Live arrêtez vos recherches et budgeter pour vous offrir le Push 2. Édition rythmique et mélodique fortement ergonomique plus accès en toucher à toutes vos pistes de devices. Attention il faut lire le manuel en français (disponible dans le chapitre 31 du guide Live 11) pour en tirer la quintessence car c'est loin d'être easy à cause des possibilités détaillées de l'exploitation du Logiciel, et regarder un maximum de vidéos tutoriels. Sinon vous la revendrez aussitôt sans y déceler la mine d'or. Et en plus on a un setup utilisateur complètement free, les vst sont contrôlables aussi via les macro midi learn settings. Bel outil, et en plus on conserve la souris, qui peut le plus peut le moins.

Facilita mucho el uso de Ableton Live sin tener que depender tanto del teclado y ratón, además de aumentar la productividad y el workflow años luces. Muy practico para actuaciones en vivo tambien.

I've been using Ableton for a while now, along with a variety of MIDI controllers. But this one is so fundamentally ingrained with the software and so feature-rich as a result that it has completely changed how I approach the DAW for my day to day production usage. It's a very hands-on tool for music making and allows for a lot of ways to make your workflow through the Ableton DAW very efficient. By far one of the quickest ways to get musical ideas out of your head and into the world. Also, it's excellent eye candy for playing gigs.
