Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter Set for Charcoal Barbecues

Bought this version, knowing there were other cheaper brands out there, and I don't regret spending the extra at all. During summer months this gets used about once or twice a week, sometimes multiple times a day if it's a big do. Not once has it shown any signs of warping, or scalding. It does it's job perfectly without any issues, gets the coal nice and hot, has a good enough capacity that most bbq's can be fueled by one full chimney. The handle doesn't get that hot when the coal is burning, I still use gloves as a precaution, but you mavericks out there need not worry about burning your hands. My one tiny gripe is that smaller pieces of coal can fall through the bottom grate, good quality coal tends to be slightly larger than cheaper so that's more of fuel issue, but that issue doesn't rear it's head until after you go through the included coal, which is about enough for two bbq's. I've just started layering the bigger piece on the bottom to create a little bed for the smaller pieces and that's helped heaps. This is an easy recommend for me, the metal is good quality and I could easily see this lasting 10 years+ which can't be said for my friends cheaper one, which warped like crazy after 1 summer and forced him to spend more on two than this one alone costs.

This thing is a must have to start any coal BBQ. If you struggle to start a coal BBQ this gives 100% success rate and is so easy to use. With this you need the coals a bit of newspaper and some fire lighters and you will have the perfect coals within 20 minutes. The instructions are easy to follow and is a failsafe method. Good to have if you are hosting a BBQ as you don't have to worry about starting it up.

This is the first time that I have used or purchased a chimney for lighting, barbecue briquettes. The item isn’t cheap, but it does make having a barbecue a whole lot easier and guarantee success with lighting multiple briquettes. The bag of briquettes is small and may only last you one or two barbecues. Therefore it is more of a sample size bag. In my opinion on the firelighters were not as good as I expected and I have since opted for wood shaving beeswax type firelighters that seem to work much better. The bag of firelighters is also more of a trial size so really you are purchasing the chimney which is of a very good quality and appears to be made well and should last a very long time.

This stacker makes all the difference! Absolutely a game changer! Easy and simple to use. Would highly recommend it. No more fuss with bits that doesn’t burn or you have to stack it up and light it up then standing over the hot coals to keep moving some around!

The kit itself contains some quality items, the chimney starter starter works well but is moderately inconvenient if you don't have a good place to put it after dumping out the coals. The coals themselves cooked well and certainly retained their heart for a good long while. The claimed three hours is a bit of a stretch but I comfortably cooked for an hour at which point they were still going, albeit it more slowly. Overall this is a reasonable kit to get you started but it does feel a little expensive for what it is. If I were doing it over I'd skip it and just get the coals.

This chimney is a great idea and the build quality is great too. It holds a lot of coal (I use restaurant coal so some large pieces and out of a big sack but I'd estimate 2-2.5 kilo). I out the firelighter in, fill with coal and then light from the bottom using a long lighter. 20 ish minutes later the coal it ready to tip into the BB and cook. Have, used a lot- every BBQ, but have had a couple of occasions when at the magic 20ish minutes later is up I've had to start again- the firelighter had gone out- totally the firelighters/my fault, not the chimneys and given the speed it's just time for another drink, and a bit more marinating before you start cooking so not all bad! I now have two of these - my BBQ can hold more coal and due to building works I'm without a cooker so double coal has let me cook a joint/chicken for the following day after the BBQ itself, also the extra heat lasts well into the light so we can use the BBQ as a fire pit too, nice and toasty.

Just dead simple to use. Lights up the whole coal volume in about 2 minutes flat. Perfect every time. It is genuinely a genius idea and a must have for anyone that owns a barbecue

Been wanting this for a while, when it went on special, I closed my eyes, swiped the card and purchased it. Absolutely the best investment I've done in a while. I tried it a few days ago for it's 1st time, and me also using it the first time, be careful not to get hot coal ash on you when topping it over into the braai. It works like an absolute dream, all the coals heat up and turn white at the exact time. This thing is a monster. Within 15 minutes the coals were red red hot. Truly happy with my purchase.
