LG Electronics 14x SATA Blu-ray Internal Rewriter without Software, Black (WH14NS40)

LG optical drives have served me well over the years and have been extreemly reliable. This drive burned a blu-ray disc straight out of the box. No drivers required. I haven't tried the M-Disc feature yet but I am now future proofed in the optical disc department and if, like my other LG drives, it lasts as long I'll be very happy.

This is the most cost effective way I have found to enter the 4K UHD HDR Dolby Vision / Dolby Atmos world - an absolutely fabulous drive at a reasonable price. Love it.

I have had one of these for the past 8 years and it only recently failed. This replacement was built in 2024 and I have had no problem with it at all

I purchased this LG drive on the strength of reviews stating that it can read UHD discs, the one I received was Oct 2018 model and it could NOT read any of my UHD discs because it has firmware version 1.03. This actually disables the drive from reading UHD discs, it can of course be downgraded to version 1.02 with the right software and firmware file which will allow it to read UHD discs. It is an excellent drive in all other respects and I gave it four stars.

Nice blue ray player/recorder. Have used it with M-disk 25gb and 100gb, all work perfect.

Happy with purchase. Fits computer as you would expect. Bonus is it's fairly esay to make it UHD friendly with the correct firmware flash. So far so good.

Best blu-ray writer out there, never failed on 50+ disks, where other drives spat out 1 coaster every 4. Highly recommended with verbatim disks.

Burned 4 BD-R, 2 BD-R DL & 2 BD-RE with no coasters. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Only problem I did run into was down to power which had nothing to do with the burner. 6 internal hard drives, 1 DVD burner and this Blu-Ray burner required more power than my psu was putting out, 450W. Upgraded PSU and no problems whatsoever. Don't hold back. If you want a Blu-ray burner definitely consider this

This LG WH14NS40 drive comes with firmware version1.04 but after sidegrading it to WH16NS60 1.02 it works just fine with MakeMKV. While the drive seems absolutely brand new, the odd thing is that it’s packaged in cheap pink plastic and a generic box. Almost seemed like a refurbished unit, no idea why it’s not packaged in proper LG boxing. So far no issues, running it just fine in Windows 10 1909, and after sidegrading am able to make backups of my UHD discs.

Fonctionne bien pour graver des BD et BD-RE, je n'ai pas testé avec les BD 50go. J'utilise imgburn pour graver et tout semble bien marcher, pareil pour les MDISCS.

Item installs easily into desktop case and works without any special driver installation on windows 7. Burning and verification is efficiently performed using image burn freeware.

Es hat alles reibungslos funktioniert, ich habe das gerät einfach angeschlossen es wurde regulär erkannt und auch das patchen für 4k Blu-Rays in MakeMKV war problemlos.
