Ranger AIP-31468 Archival Ink Pad, Jet Black, 6.86 x 9.91 x 1.78 cm

I have been using these ink pads for over 10 years. No other brand comes close. The pad itself is made of quality material and works flawlessly with a medium-sized stamp. The ink is dark black and doesn't fade, unlike other brands I have tried. The plastic body and lid are solid and close to prevent the ink from drying out.

Always goes a clear print and is long lasting.

The is the larger pad, although they do a jumbo pad. I find this is the right size and brought the same brand and colour ink refill. I used Black the most, so this larger pad was better value for money and permanent, so if I paint a wash over the top the ink won't run or smudge. Nice colour black. Stamp pad is an easy size to use and functions well.

Great ink! Good solid, bright image. BUT beware! This stains everything, and unless it’s cleaned IMMEDIATELY and I am within SECONDS, it stains and does not come out. My Tim Holtz stamp platform is stained cos of this! And I clean quickly!

I have stamped with this ink and used, dye inks, pigment inks, color pencils, water color pencils and water colors to color in the stamping with no smearing for fading. This ink dries faster than a pigment ink but does take a little longer than a dye ink to completely dry. It is not suitable for heat embossing as it does not stay wet long enough.

This isn't the cheapest pigment ink stamp pad you can buy but is worth the extra for its quality. The availability of a refill bottle which I gather will refill the pad a good few times makes the initial outlay less daunting and more of an investment - as well as being a greener way of consuming. (I initially made the mistake of trying to economise with a cheaper brand - Dovecrafts- which ended up being a waste of time and money. ) It does what it claims to do on the pack and I wish I had bought one of these first.

This is my favourite black ink pad. It is good quality, permanent and works great with pencils and water colours.
