Bought from amazon (not an amazon seller) 1 Feb 2018 . received the older version. I don't think there is much difference. newer version has a "slightly smaller clickier top button" according to IGNs video "PSVR Hardware Upgrade Side-By-Side Comparison" hope this helps

Yes, besides the new packaging they are exactly the same as the old move controllers. In fact you could even buy a couple of old move controllers for vr if you want to save some money.

Does this controller work with the ps3 as well or only ps4/psvr

It should work with the ps3 but save your money and buy a single controller as this is two move controllers for the vr. You only need one for the ps3. Hope this helps.
