Then I cleaned my taps......all the stains and water marks just vanished, and those taps were so bad I was thinking of buying new ones. This soap is wonderful, I use it to clean everything and can now empty my crowded under sink cupboards of the multitude of cleaning and anti-bacterial sprays (Dr Bronner's soap kills 99% of germs). I have used it as a spot cleaner on the laundry (I use an eco egg, no detergent) it worked better than the purpose cleaner from supermarket - removing lipstick stains which the named brand didn't. I use it to clean all surfaces in kitchen and bathroom, and on me in the shower. I haven't yet tried it as a shampoo, if you do then I think a rinse with vinegar or lemon juice would be needed, I can remember my mother always doing this pre-commercial shampoo. There are many recipes on the internet for home made cleaners and cleansers, many of them call for castille soap and vinegar......do NOT mix these two together they completely cancel each other out. I have purchased it for this reason. I have added essential oils to it, and I have also added fragrance oils to it with great success! **Q: Can this be used to wash laundry; either by hand or with a washboard?** A: Absolutely! 1 cup Castile soap, 1cup baking soda, 1/3 cup salt, 2 cups distilled water (warmed), essential oils (if you want a scent). Only laundry soap we use now. I use vinegar in the softener dispenser. Just don’t mix vinegar & the baking soda. One is an acid the other a base and cancel each other out. **Q: what are the ingredients in Dr. Bonner's Castile Soaps?** A: I don't know contents, but know the "unscented" is very mild & I can use from head to toe, shampoo & body wash & doesn't agrivate my psoriasis. **Q: I purchased a 32 oz. bottle of unscented baby-mild pure-castile soap. I was hoping for it to be truely unscented but it smells like peppermint. ??** A: It should not smell like peppermint. I purchased a two bottle set of the unscented product. One of the bottles was unscented and the other smelled of lavender. Some people may not have noticed the difference but I have a diagnoses of fragrance hypersensitivity along with asthma and allergies and as soon as I opened the second bottle I sensed the lavender fragrance.
