Does the slider on the lid come off for cleaning? the sides of the slider seem "gunked" up and don't slide easily. tried soap, hot water, even klr.

Have you tried Oxyclean, the regulae powder? Soak the lid in hot water with a small scoop of the powder. I get the worst coffee gunk off my husband's travel mug off with that. Also cleans glass coffee carafes effortlessly.

What is the height with lid?

The lid is angled. With the lid on, at the spout, the total height is 10". Back at the tab, the total height is 9.25".

Is the outside powder coated or smooth?

The Caviar, Strawberry, and White Icing are a powder coat finish, but with the finest possible granularity for a near-smooth feel and definitely a smooth look. The Golden is a metallic paint finish with a shine to it and a smooth finish.
