A really good quality pin hammer for the price that will do the job it is designed for.
Amazing value for the money, I bought 2. The handle is varnished, not a great finish, it looks like a varnish dip job. However, I gave it a quick rub with a bit of scratch and a run over with Danish Oil. Now it has the soft tactility of a tool 5 times the price. The face of the hammer is OK after cleaning off the varnish. The face is slightly curved, I gave it a rub on some oiled wet and dry and flattened the face off a little more, though it was not essential for use. As it comes just as the standard pin hammer, I will be surprised if you can find a better one at near this price! All in all 5 STARS marked against its price/functioning condition on arrival.

Good quality for the price
For the price, this is a great little hammer, light and easier to use.

Cheap and cheerful; unsure whether shaft is wedged for security
Purchased to replace one accidentally broken when trodden on; it was originally used by a furniture maker and at least third-hand. The head on this AmTech hammer is a nomimal 4 oz but the shaft appears to be bulky and borrowed from a heavier hammer. It will therefore provide a very solid grip. It is one of the lowest priced of its type available from Amazon but is unlikely to see much use beyond its current need. Consequently, paying a high price for another brand did not appear to be a reasonable proposition. Alternatives from two other brands were briefly considered but immediately rejected due to repeated poor experiences with several of their respective products, not just tools. Consequently, neither brand is ever likely to be a first, second or third choice whatever the task or need. A little heavier than expected or necessary for the designed purpose, it may be necessary to hold the hammer mid-shank or there-about to reduce its impact upon the pins used. Application of tar or black paint around the junction of head and shaft hides whether or not the shaft had been split, wedged and glued for a secure and safe fit. Cheap and cheerful, probably orientally-made but should meet modest current needs and those in the future, if any.
