Pet Remedy Spray - The only thing that works!
I have tried almost every 'pet calmer' on the market to try to help my anxious little dog. Pills, collars, sprays, diffusers...nothing worked, and I was convinced that nothing would until a visit to the vets. My dog is petrified of the vets, but the nurse sprayed some Pet Remedy around the surgery...and it stopped my little dog in her tracks. She wasn't upset. She simply sniffed the air and walked around calmly, looking curious. I won't say that she was perfect for the vet by any means, but she didn't go into hyperventilation mode as she usually does. I thought this was just a fluke but was willing to give it a try, so ordered the 200ml spray. It arrived at the same time I had visitors arrive at the door. This usually sets my dog off, so I unpacked the spray and sprayed the air liberally. My dog wagged her tail and sat down! Since that time, I use the spray whenever my little dog goes into uncontrollable anxious barking mode, or is very nervous. It is not a miracle cure and if she is persistent in anxious barking, it will only work for a while. But she seems to like it, has no bad reactions to it, and we both get a little bit of peace. One bad point - it smells absolutely foul! But the smell wears off before the effects, and in any case, I can put up with the smell of stale water/old socks/vegetables or whatever... because it calms my nervous little dog. And that's worth a lot.

Really good stuff!
I don’t know how/why this works but it does. I use the plug in version in the winter but that’s pointless when all the doors and windows are open. So we bought this and the wipes to use in specific areas during the warmer months. One of our labs has mild separation anxiety and both of them get very stressed going to the vets. Both products made a significant improvement in behaviour ( not a cure, it’s not a miracle)! My husband was very sceptical but he had to admit they were worth the money

From Synthetic Chemicals to a "Layered Calm": The Safe Choice for a Lifetime
As we move through 2026, my perspective has shifted from "what works in the moment" to "what is safe for a lifetime." I recently had a massive "aha" moment regarding synthetic pheromone diffusers. Discovering they often rely on isoparaffinic hydrocarbons (petrochemicals)—substances that are aspiration hazards and toxic to aquatic life—was a turning point. I couldn't reconcile "calming" my dogs with exposing their sensitive respiratory systems to petroleum-derived chemicals. I’ve since switched to Pet Remedy as a natural, plant-based aid within my broader "Layered Calm" Strategy. 🧬 THE SCIENCE: HOW IT WORKS (WITHOUT THE CHEMICALS) What convinced me to switch was the biological mechanism. Unlike synthetic pheromones, Pet Remedy works with the GABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid) pathway. The Valerian and Vetiver compounds help "trick" over-stimulated nerve cells into thinking they are receiving a calming message. It lowers the heart rate and reduces "fired-up" energy naturally, without making the dog drowsy or "drugged." ☯️ MY "LAYERED CALM" STRATEGY: BUILDING ON OUR BOND • True security shouldn't come from a bottle. I use a multi-layered approach that builds on the bond I have with my dogs: • THE "SAFETY SCENT" & TACTILE ANCHOR: The most powerful pheromone is YOU. I use my recently worn T-shirts or their favorite blankets. I’ve also added the Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Toy 🐶❤️(ASIN: B000C9YHFS) for physical warmth and a mimicking heartbeat. • BIO-ACOUSTIC THERAPY: 🎶 We’ve traded the hum of a diffuser for the science of sound. I play music engineered for canine ears, like Through a Dog's Ear (ASIN: 1591796423) or The Mozart Effect (ASIN: B00000DA1O). • ACTIVE ADRENALINE RELEASE: 🐾 Stress lives in the body. We use light play and nose-work to turn nervous energy into a game that reinforces trust. • PET REMEDY AS THE FINISHING TOUCH: This spray is our "herbal" layer. It’s pH neutral, eco-safe, and supports their system without the chemical baggage. FIRST WEEK OBSERVATIONS: TWO DOGS, TWO CHOICES I sprayed this on their bedding and saw two distinct reactions. One dog walked away for 5 minutes, then returned and settled (preferring the scent once dissipated), while the other immediately chose to roll in it. These choices must be respected. Watch your dog’s reaction and tailor your plan accordingly. ⭐ PRO-TIP: CONDITION A POSITIVE RESPONSE Dogs are smart. If you only use this during fireworks, they will learn to dread the smell. Build positive associations: Use the spray frequently when they are already calm and happy. By conditioning a positive emotional response before the stress hits, you set them up for true success. Final Verdict: Pet Remedy is a fantastic, non-toxic tool, but it isn't a miracle. It is an aid that supports the groundwork you put into your relationship. If you want a safe, eco-friendly lifestyle for your pets, this is the gold standard.

Absolutely brilliant for a litter of hyper pups
I was stunned how quickly it worked on the pups. It was suggested by our vet nurse to get these and oh my… worked wonders. We have a litter of 6 Vizsla pups and I spray it on their bedding. Also, if I have a super hyper pup that is exhausted but can’t just relax and fall asleep, I spray it on my clothes on my chest and hands, pick the pup up and within minutes it’ll be happily sleeping. Then I put it in bed and they don’t even notice. Absolutely brilliant. Oh, and relaxes me too that I definitely need sometimes. Highly recommend.

It Actually Works :-) :-) :-)
In October 2015 a friend of mine gave me a little of this spray that she had left as I’d one very nervous Shetland Sheepdog who was just less than 1 year old, (he was frightened of anything strange that moved, he was even frightened of his own shadow when the sun was out). Our youngest had already started taking skullcap and valerian in tablet form in early September but that wasn’t enough on its own, as he was still a little jumpy at certain things in strange places. So we started using this spray on his fur when he was going somewhere different and before he went to obedience class. It’s worked extremely well and has helped him immensely. It really relaxes him and he’s able to cope with everyday life as he’s not keen on loud and unfamiliar noises, it’s giving him the confidence to explore his world a little more outside the safety of his home without being terrified of things he’s not seen or heard before. The spray does have a pungent smell when first sprayed but it soon disappears. This isn’t just for dogs but can be used on cats, rodents, horses and birds. The main ingredients of the spray are a special proven blend of Valerian essential oil, blended with Vetivert, Basil Sweet and Sage. It’s safe to spray directly on your pet, but not recommended where they can lick it off. You can also to spray on bedding, carpet, soft furnishings and in your car, (onto a dog cover). I can highly recommend it as it’s certainly helped our little Sheltie and he’s certainly more relaxed in his everyday life. :-)

Stinky, smelly, pongy, fetid cheesey, tramps sock, rancid whiff. Did I mention it smells?
Oh dear! I so wanted this to work, but I don't think it does :( . I did read the reviews and saw it was a bit of a mixed bag, people either loved it or hated it. Maybe some pets are calmed from it, which is great, but didn't do much for my cat - or me!. My cat is a blind rescue cat and can get a bit skittish (understandibly) and I bought this to try and keep her more relaxed (I bought the plug-in as well at the same time, I'll review the plug in separately). Initially when I tried the spray pump, it was broken - no biggie, I decanted it into another spray bottle and immediately got 'the whiff'. It smelled of horrendous mouldy cheesey feet and for one terrifying moment, I thought my ex hisband had sneaked into my house. Yegads it made me reel! I thought 'No, give it a chance, my kitty deserves some calmness, I'll put up with it.' So I sprayed a little on the bottom stair carpet where kitty likes to pull all the threads out in temper. She had a sniff and sat on the bottom stair! Yay! Well that was pretty much it as far as calming went. It smells so bad, I didn't want to spray it on any furnishings, throws or even her pet blankie. So I have tried to spray it on a paper towel and place it near kitty when she is getting skittish. Once she smells the fetid smelling paper towel, she stops, sniffs and walks off, then goes skittish somewhere else. All it does for my kitty is stun her for a moment, asit does me. I really did want this to work. Has anyone else any suggestions for a calming effect on cats?

It works but not for all cats
Sprayed it on the cone pillow for my tortie who was on topical medication so she would be relaxed and it worked. It has effects on my white cat but it doesnt seem to have any effect on my black cat. I’ve seen reviews here about the bad smell. but the smell is very herbal and it doesn't bother me.

Efectivo

Overall calming effect, worth continuing.
I’m typically skeptical about these kinds of untested remedies for behavior, but thought I’d give this a try. I have four adult cats, three of which are siblings, and am fostering three rambunctious kittens, also all siblings. Two of the adults really hadn’t adjusted well to the presence of the kittens, let alone to their activity levels. Lots of hissing and swatting, anxiety displays, and hiding under the bed. Since using this spray, very judiciously, there’s been a noticible effect on the two adult cats anxiety displays. Less hissing, less swatting, overall reduced aggression toward the kittens and each other. I spray their sleeping/lounging areas in the living room in the morning and again in the evening when I return from work. My work from home partner has reported considerably improved levels of calm and sociability, especially in the two most stressed adults. The one, who has always been the one picked on by everyone else, has also demonstrated increased general sociability, she’s hiding less, coming out looking for cuddles more, and overall more peaceably interacting with the kittens. There’s a kind of feedback loop I’ve noticed. The less she hisses and runs, the less the kittens and others give chase, the less she feels like she has to run and hide, the more she’s out with everyone else. Some people have remarked that it stinks...nope, it has a really nice earthy herbal smell, almost like yarrow blossoms, though this is not in the ingredient list. Using the spray, you can control when and where the aroma arises, but it’s the herbal aroma that induces the calming....also, I find it a rather soothing aroma for myself, after a long day at work, I’m finding I feel better after spraying the living room, too. My friend wants to try it on her rambunctious toddler! Mammals, right?
