My 7year old daughter specifcally picked this out.  She thoroughly enjoyed it and rarely needed help.  She is the methodical type, who usually likes meticulously puzzles and things, but I found the instructions so super easy.  And there were lots of extra pieces.  I suggest you place the pieces in a Zip lock bag or a mini tupperware type box afterwards because the packaging isnt really sufficient to store.  And FYI, a nail file or something similar will help with those stubborn pieces when you are disassembling and packing away.

Loads of bits to keep a child occupied and having fun building for the whole afternoon! My only complaint is that it does not seem as sturdy (once built) as some of our other sets - not ideal for moving around.
