I can't tell for sure from the pictures** A: All the chisels are bevel edge chisels there are no mortise chisels included in this set. However I have used them for cutting mortises and the joints have been fine. Hope this helps. Bri. **Q: are these chisels already sharpened when they arrive?** A: Those chisels I have tried from the set shave softwood easily straight from the box. A craftsman would want to improve on the ground finish on the back of the blade and bring it up to a mirror polish for a real razor edge but, as delivered, they are good enough for basic carpentry. I have not yet given them enough use to know how long they will keep an edge. I would say that they are good quality for the price. As commented by other buyers slight transport damage to the box is irritating but repairable (bruised corner and thin spacer between the two largest chisels sheared off as packing lacks shock protection suitable for a heavyish box) **Q: Do they hold an edge well after being ground and sharpened a couple of time?** A: I've used and resharpened a couple, I ve found they hold an edge pretty well, however I do tend to giveedges a hone and oil after each deaily use. Recommended *by P***L on 29 July 2025* I only give 4 stars as the timber presentation case is damaged. It doesn't affect the performance of the tool but if the case is part of what you pay for and it turns up busted then I'm not gonna be best thrilled. The parcel box was damaged as well but in a different area to the case damage. So it's had some abuse between the distributor and the carrier. Sorry guys, you all gotta do better in future, this stuff matters. Sure, they werent expensive, but I still want value for my quid. Anyhoobs, video attached.
