No, not at all. My tiny jewellery cleaner makes more noise than my Roneyville.

can this be used without the remote? there wasn't one in the box. It's such a large item to return I just wondered if it can be used without?

You would be better off contacting the buyer and telling them there was no remote in the box and asking if they could send you one. You could use it without the remote for some functions but you really do need a remote.

How do you adjust the speed when not in a program mode? The +/- speed/time button just goes automatically onto the time setting.

Hi Liz - I just manually press the +/- setting - it will only go up an extra one, but that is more than enough speed that is required.
