National Geographic 6x21 Child Binocular

A great pair of binoculars, excellent magnification and great clarity. They are compact, easy for a child to hold and not too heavy.

A good compromise between ease of use and magnification, for kids or others not used to binoculars. The x6 magnification makes them ideal for looking at birds that are fairly close - say on a bird table, or at a zoo - which is ideal when you are learning to use binoculars and would not be able to quickly focus on a dot in a hedge. They have a nice weight in the hand and feel comfortable for small hands. My only real criticism is that they don't come with a neck strap. This may be for safety reasons but for my own kids I would want a neck strap - there are fixing points for one if you get the right (thin) cord to thread through; I would then use a thicker strap to fix to the thin loops.

I bought these binoculars for my six year old granddaughter and she loved them. The magnification is x6 and the image is very sharp. It is sturdy, so suitable for a child, but an adult would also like them. They are compact and have a carry strap.

My 4 year old granddaughter loves these binoculars, insists on taking them everywhere, in the car, on the train.... Very sturdy and just the right size for small faces. I would only advise to buy a strap to wear them round the neck because it's better for young children than the short wrist strap provided.

Despite only ever being used by my little boy, indoors, one of the lenses fell out after only a couple of months. Very poor quality.

Bought as a gift for a child, the binoculars are quite well built and feel pretty solid for the price. Optically, it seems clear enough and gives fairly sharp image, the 6x magnification is just about right for a small child to handhold without too much noticeable hand shaking when looking through the eyepiece. There is also a useful dioptre adjustment control on the right eyepiece. It is light enough for a 5 year old to carry around and there are 2 lug holes for a neck strap to go in but no neck strap is included (I assume for safety reasons as it is designed for children). Overall, very good for the price, HOWEVER, the reason for only 3 stars is that the binoculars I received absolutely reek of mothballs!! I mean a very strong pungent odour that permeates from the binoculars and the nylon carry pouch. No matter how much I washed and cleaned them, I still cannot get rid of the odour. I write this after a week of letting it sit out in the open in the hope of the smell dissipating but no joy. I have even resorted to Febreze on the carry pouch but the smell is still there. The eyepieces in particular smell very strongly of mothballs. It was the first thing the child who received it mentioned when they looked through it and as it is being held close to their nose, there's no getting away from it! It's a real shame because the actual product is quite good, only for the terrible odour to let it down to the point where the child is reluctant to use it at all now and has somewhat ruined the experience. I considered returning it to Amazon but as it was ordered directly from Amazon in the first place, I'm guessing the others will probably be the same. It was obviously shipped from the far east where the binoculars must have been stuffed full of mothballs. If you are lucky enough to get a pair without the odour, I would definitely recommend them for the price but it's just a bit disappointing.

I bought these as a Xmas present for my 6 year old granddaughter as she likes insects! I thought she may enjoy general nature watching. She thinks they are great and they go around with her most places. I went on a walk with her and tried them out. They are very easy to adjust, the quality is very robust, and the magnification is very good and clear. We're very pleased with them. Her older brother now wants his own pair so I can feel another Xmas present coming!

Meine Tochter ist 3,5 Jahre und der Pupillenabstand ist 5cm. Habe verschiedene Ferngläser getestet und dieses von National Geographic ist mit Abstand das technisch beste. Das Fernglas lässt sich bis auf 5cm Pupillenabstand klappen sodass auch kleine Kinder ab 3 es theoretisch benutzen könnten. Das Sehfeld ist klar und der Regler hat einen großen Regelbereich bei gleichzeitig ausreichend festem Drehwiderstand. Die volle Linsenvergütung merkt man. Die 6fache Vergrößerung ist ideal weil 8 oder 10 für Kinder nicht stabilisierbar ist. Einziges Manko: Aufgrund der guten Qualität ist es etwas schwerer wenn auch an sich sehr kompakt. Meine 3 jährige Tochter fand es toll spielte aber dann lieber mit dem Bresser mit 3facher Vergrößerung nur weil es pink und deutlich leichter war. Natürlich ist das Bresser qualitativ um Welten unterlegen. Wenn mein Kind dann so 4-5 Jahre ist wird sie lieber dieses hier von National Geographic nehmen weil Haptik, Qualität, Vergrößerung, Einstellbarkeit sehr gut sind. Habe noch weitere hier gelistete (10-25 Euro) getestet aber die sind komplett für die Tonne. Trotzdem größte Kaufempfehlung wenn Kind mind 4-5 Jahre.

Deze kinder verrekijker heeft geen dioptrie instelling. De product omschrijving is hier nog (steeds) niet op aangepast. De verrekijker is niet waterdicht of vocht bestendig. Zelfde dag nog beslagen lenzen aan de binnenkant.

Binocolo molto luminoso, adorato dai piccoli, facile nel settaggio! Materiali adeguati, robusto per un uso frequente. Molto consigliato. Va bene anche a chi usa gli ochhiali, in quanto il correttore diottrico è molto preciso.
