DAS White 1 kg Air Drying Modelling Clay

Well if DaVinci could sculpt snails and sharks he might match my genius using this stuff which, it seems I have a talent for. At least that's what my grandchildren think anyway. Given the current situation my wife and I do our bit with our six year old grandchildren and when they come over and visit we make the effort to do something a bit 'old school' and hands on. This time we decided that modelling clay would be a good occupier of time and hands and it proved to by thus. Now, when dealing with six year olds one has to accept that there may be a fair bit of commissioning involved and that certainly proved to be the case with us with the small people in our lives requesting ever more complicated works of art. Well I gave it my best shot and managed a very good snail, a passable shark and a somewhat down at heel tyrannosaurus rex. I made sure it was a joint effort with my grandchildren making up various sausages to be formed collectively into various shapes. When we finished we had a collection of perhaps less than able animals but had used up quite some time together discussing and working on these art works. That's worth quite a bit I'd say and it's nice to see that even in these computer dominated times children can still get something from basic craft materials and a bit of help and time. To use it's easy. Just open the bag, cut off what you need and once you have kneaded it a bit to make it more pliable for moulding and forming off you go. It's water soluable so when joining or smoothing a little bit applied helps it out. Once the masterpiece is made all you have to do is leave it out to air dry which, it does in a couple of days in a warm environment. As it's water soluable it's easy to wash up afterwards with no manky stuff on one's hands. I'm not quite sure that would be the case on nice soft furnishings so best make sure wherever this is used is wipe down. Overall a great craft product even if you are a serious modeller or sculptor making genuinely good art.

Best quality and ease of use clay I have used for my air dry clay projects. Doesn’t crack when drying or have air bubbles when rolled flat.

I bought this to make little gingerbread men decorations for my daughters christmas party (they are decorating gingerbread men) i thought these would be a really cute keepsake that they could take home, but i wanted them to not need to be painted. The white looks so good! So easy to use, and well packaged. i was able to make 15 plain little gingerbread men, and then had some left over for some family ones with embellishments. They dry really quickly and look fantastic. I can't wait to see them on the christmas tree. If i remember to take a picture when they are on their tree i will post it too.

We bought the DAS Modelling Air Dry Clay White - School Pack 5 x 1kg Bucket for our sons to model and to mould onto mannequin heads for mask-making. It has been a massive hit! Easy to use and to mould. Air dries in a few hours ready for painting. Almost no smell. You can add a bit of water to the surface if it starts drying as you work, so as to make it soft again and more pliable. The packaging was brilliant. Coming in 5 separate packs all in one plastic box, it will keep fresh for ages. If you only use part of a pack, it is easy to fold over the packet to keep the air out and it stays soft.....so far for over 6 weeks and showing no signs of hardening. All in all very pleased and great value! Thank you!

I love this. It is white and dries quickly. It is easy for adults and children to use. It can be a tiny bit sticky when you first open it but when you start rolling it this stops and it comes of your hands easily. Amazong value for money and because it is smaller packs or fits easily on drawers and doesn't dry out before you finish it. You need about 3 packs for a class of 30 to make a decoration each

Easy to work, dries fast, very 'solid' when dry.

More in the pack that I'd imagined. Bought to keep my grandson occupied over the holidays. We had lots of fun, and mess, making things. It was trickier to use than I'd hoped, but we laughed through our mistakes trying to master it.

You don’t need a microwave but it does dry slowly overall good
