BEST for filtering living in a high lime scale,chlorinated,alkaline water area.Water full of normally good minerals,just not for anyone who likes to avoid the film that floats on your tea,needs neutral water,&/or furred up kettles.Sadly doesn't last anything like 60 days in Southsea,more 2-3 weeks as used so much for all drinking & cooking water.Being 'chlorine & lime sensitive' ,I need near neutral water. This filter, delivers the best found to date.Far, superior to Britta filters. All bottled water except top grade distilled water has chlorine in it.Still worth the money any day, & I'm not well off.Can tell when needs changing or faulty, when the water runs very faster through the filter,more than normal.A much quicker filter time than Brita.Kettle bottom checked daily for furring up after ONE use,not just a few to keep all clear of scale,as I need.Low winter rainfall has resulted in more concentrated lime scale .Use 3 metal descalers in any kettle to effectively reduce this..All need regular flushing after finished soaking in vinegar.A few minutes over the element if no join,in a kettle.Longer,covering the wire descaler balls in a jug,for 3 mins +.Only a little in the center of the base if has a join at the inside bottom outer edges,NOT over the whole bottom inside jug kettles like this.One mistake,pouring too much in,as there was a join of metal around the bottom, higher than the central lower circle.It's this circle that hold the scale & needs the vinegar only,leave briefly to remove any scale.Rinse out well, sniff test to be sure all vinegar gone.Shake upside down,before replacing on the base ,lid open .Too much vinegar can remain if to the join,impossible to get out tainting all water.If used as described is absolutely fine.Cheapest vinegar works.Cover metal balls with vinegar,after shaking surplus water out,pop in a pyrex jug for 3-4 mins,then pour back in the bottle.Reusable until looks cloudy or less brown compared to a new bottle.(This watered down vinegar good for cleaning taps etc. ),rinse all out well in cold water,& towel dry rinsed wire descalers ,or pop in a cake tin a combination 'convection' only setting on microwave, on 150 degrees for 15 mins to dry,or leave in oven after cooking anything.Never tastes,nor smells of vinegar.Just be prepared to use more filters if have hard water.Leaves good filtered water,despite the much shorter user-life than indicated.All depends on your water supply,realistic expectations,& taste.

I decided to switch from Brita to Aqua Optima four years ago to save money. I was originally concerned about the lack of recycling facilities, but when I emailed Aqua Optima they sent me a very helpful email explaining how the recycling process is actually very energy inefficient and produces more carbon then it saves. With that in mind, and the fact that it's possible to halve your cartridge use by going for the 60-day ones, this is a great alternative. The water comes through much quicker than with Brita cartridges and we've had a great experience overall. My only complaint is that the performance is variable. You'll notice the water getting harder sooner with some cartridges than others. As long as you follow your instinct rather than just relying on the filter change reminder you'll be OK. If your water is particularly hard I'd recommend putting your jug through the dishwasher with a teaspoonful of citric acid added to the tablet before putting in a new cartridge. I'd also boil the kettle with some citric acid before starting to use it with water from the fresh filter. When it starts to fur up again, think about changing your filter cartridge. Overall I'd say these represent fantastic value.

I have the an Aqua Optima and needed some new cartridges. Last time it was cheaper to buy a new unit with a years supply of filters, now it is cheaper to buy just the filters. I like these as they last 60 days, in fact they last longer than that. There is an app that you can use to inform you when to change filters, but I normally go past that by a month before the water starts tasting different, then I replace it. Overall, for the price of just over £15 (May 2017) for 6 filters, this represents a good value. I can taste the difference with my tap water and filtered water and find the Optima is the most cost effective and best way to filter tap water over the other well known branded water filter.

These are the best I can find for the price. I know there are much better alternatives, but they are very expensive and large for a kitchen counter top. But would love the one they use at Buckingham P! I have used these now for years. Cannot use the dirty contaminated, and dangerous water in our taps. I always filter and boil before use for everything thats going into my stomach. These are much cheaper than anywhere else. Argos is nearly double the price. Its always better to buy directly from the companies.

Great filter can't reorder anymore why

Aqua Optima 60-Day Water Filter 12 pack - this represents good value. The only downside for me is that each time I have to reorder, it reminds me just how fast time is passing by! This has definitely become a habitual purchase but I do find that the filtered water is nicer to drink and for a tea lover like me who lives in a hard water area, improves the enjoyment of my favourite brew. Personally, I have found that these filters do last a good 60 days although when you replace the spent filter, as you might expect, the difference is very noticeable not least in the speed of the water flow through the filter. Overall, I've been very pleased with my original purchase of the water jug and the ongoing quality of the filters.

Best water filter

Cada filtro cubre dos meses de agua (haciendo un uso normal de estos) y depende la cantidad que compres, puedes cubrir hasta dos años de agua. Dos años en que no cargarás esas botellas o esas garrafas. Dos años sin llenar la bolsa de basura de botellas de plástico y dos años ahorrando dinero y tiempo. El sabor, es insípido (no tiene sabor), como tiene que ser, pues el agua lo es. El carbón activo hace su función y limpia los óxidos, sedimentos y más que contiene el agua de grifo. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Si cuando cambias de filtro, lo abres y separas el carbón activo del plástico, es aún mejor y te sientes más en paz contigo mismo. Anímate!

Evidemment, il y a assez peu d'intérêt à ne commenter que les filtres. Cela fait maintenant 1 an que nous avons cette carafe car nous avons trouvé en emménageant que l'eau du robinet avait vraiment mauvais goût. On ne savait pas si la carafe allait aider et finalement, c'était une très bonne idée: on ne s'en passe plus. Pour avoir vu, il y a longtemps chez des amis, une carafe d'une marque concurrente (la Brita), je suis ravie du temps d'utilisation des cartouches. Chacune fait 2 mois, on est pas toujours en train de se demander si on a de quoi renouveler. En plus, le prix est très raisonnable. Donc nous revoilà partis pour 1 an!

Mientras laves la jarra entera una vez por semana funciona perfecta. Yo la meto desmontada al lavavajillas, sin el filtro. Sale desinfectada entera y listo, otra semana con agua buena. El agua no tiene ningún sabor, y eso que el agua de grifo de mi casa tiene mucha cal y sabe raro. Filtrada con la jarra no sabe a nada. El sabor del agua cambia un poco desde el primer día al último, son 60 días y hacemos al menos 4 jarras al día. No queda carbonilla en el agua como ocurre con la Brita. Y el detalle importante con estas jarras es tener claro que el agua filtrada pierde la mayor parte de cloro y sustancias que la mantienen sin pudrirse. Por eso debe estar en la nevera, para evitar que coja mal sabor y olor. Que no es más que bacterias pudriendo el agua.

Sono sempre ottimi i filtri. Non ho mai provato le altre marche (brita) ma queste optima funzionano benissimo e mi risparmiano inutili e faticosi carichi di casse di acqua dal supermercato e spazio in casa. L'unica pecca è che in realtà non durano due mesi ma meno perchè dopo già un mese cominciano a filtrare l'acqua a fatica quindi l'acqua non scorre velocemente (esce a filo) e si allunga considerevolmente il tempo di filtraggio (5 minuti per mezzo litro) che normalmente è velocissimo. Il prezzo su amazon è vantaggioso rispetto al mercato locale.

les cartouches sont conformes à la description, 1 an d'eau filtrée sans avoir besoin de refaire le plein de cartouche. Pratique et économique, s'adapte bien à ma carafe.
