Andis - Set 9 combs raised

o.k. I'm a bit dim. we ordered the Andis clippers and these combs but the combs didn't fit! They were both advertised that they should fit so I started to organise a refund and returns. My son (who isn't daft) then came through and took a look at them and realised that the metal fitment on the bottom of the comb hooks on the bottom of the clippers blade and then expands for the top of the comb to fit over the blades cutting teeth. Doh!!! Needless to say I'm cancelling the return. Feel like really good quality combs and the metal fitment means that they should be substantial and wont be so likely to break or snap. Only thing I will say is that the instructions are not clear as to how the combs function and fit.

Fantastic for price and work great on my standard poodle. Like many combs they will only do their job if you spend the time and brush ALL the knots out. I honestly don’t know how people have had problems putting them on the clippers. Hook the metal clip to the bottom of your blade and pull up and over

Bought this set of combs for my Andis AGC-2. They are easy to clip on and do fit, however they are a little too small. The outside teeth only just fit on the outside of the clipper blade, so with it turned on and being used the outside teeth can slip into the blade gaps and the whole thing is suddenly not straight. Not such an issue with the larger combs, but the smaller ones are definately too flimsy - especially after the clipper has warmed up which then heats up the plastic and softens it! Lesson learnt - pay more and don't get plastic comb guards!

bought my andis clippers elsewhere, as they were a lot cheaper, but they didn't do the combs so I bought them on here. Impossible to clip with them on the clippers. Just stopped the clippers from cutting properly. Possibly I'm using them wrong but I don't think so. I've clipped horses for years and done my husband's hair as well (which I do use combs for) and yet these were TERRIBLE. If you're buying andis clippers don't bother with the combs. We eventually managed a very creditable first attempt on our long suffering dog, without the combs. Short, but very serviceable and smart. The combs just kept pulling his hair.

These combs are helpful if you're like me and not very confident to clip your dog with just the blade. I would say that the listing is not very clear as to whether you need 'small' or 'large' - the size refers to the range of comb lengths in the pack, so for my small and not very long haired dog, the large combs were far too long in length and wouldn't cut his hair at all and I had to buy the 'small'. Also, I have seen a lot of people say that they don't fit Andis clippers - they do but it's not easy to get them on the first time and there aren't really any instructions - you have to clip them on the bottom of the blade and sort of stretch the plastic part up and over the end of the blade - the plastic part does extend away from the metal end!

If you are only doing a few dogs you REALLY do not need a full kit I do use, say, an 11mm for her legs and then leave it at 13mm along her back for warmth, but the extra mm is just me being picky, and if I forget to change the head I don't care The combs are good and fit on the blades and stay on well. I've had these for 4 years now with no problems

Saw these from several suppliers in Amazon Marketplace for £60+. At £11 I thought they might not be genuine but they are the real thing. I note 3 customer reviews say they don't fit and and I don't blame them for thinking so. The fitting instructions on the packaging is to small and useless. At first glance the combs don't look as if they'll fit - it's like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube. Until, I spotted this link on Youtube - [...] So simple when you know how.

These fit on my andis clipper great but they are not strong enough to get through my dogs hair the way the metal ones do. It ended up pulling clumps of my dogs hair out. Would probably be fine on dogs with smooth fine hair but definitely not for my dog.

Can't be happier with this set, it's really worth the money - I got mine just under $25 (on AU site but they were shipped from Amazon UK)! Remember to read the instructions on how to fit them onto your clipper as the metal bits are spring loaded so you can pull them upward over the blade to fit! They are useful for in between sizes of your blades, but as usual, these guide combs are not as good as actual blades of the same size and I've purchased a few sizes of blades and not using the guide combs much as you know, hair can get caught between the blade and the comb.

These fit perfectly on my Andis ProClip UltraEdge. I had been trying to clipper guards so we could leave some extra length on my dog's coat. These work perfectly. They are a little tight to get on and off as they have a spring mechanism to hold them on. They stay in place and don't wiggle around at all when attached. Great purchase!
