Great Mic for the price
I have been using Garageband on a Macbook Pro for just a few weeks now and wanted a mic that was going to give me better results than the on board mic of the macbook. I have tried to record acoustic instruments using the on board mic but results were not great. After looking around I wanted a mic that did not require phantom power as it would just add more expense purchasing a power supply. I opted for the Behringer C-1U as it was powered from the USB which is just very convenient for me. After reading other reviews about the low volume issues I was a little wary, however I have no issues with recording volume as I simply turned the mic input up in my audio settings to 90%. When recording my acoustic guitar from about 1 foot away the results were great and so much better than the on board mic, I tried a few vocals and again so much better than the on board mic. Agreed that there is a little hiss at the high level but nothing that cant be filtered out with software but this still gets 5 stars from me as I have used other mics in this price bracket and none even come close to the recording quality I get from this. *Update* After using this for over a mouth now I still have no issues with recording level. I have some noise as expected but noisegate in Garageband got rid of most of it, Here is a sample of the recording of acoustic guitar and vocals. Noisegate has only been applied to vocal tracks not the acoustic recording. [...]

Solid microphone
Great microphone. Sound quality is very clear. Only thing I recommend is buying a pop filter to go with it to help clear up the sound a bit. I didn't use it for professional use, only for gaming and I got compliments on my mic quality numerous times.

Brilliant Microphone, would recommend to any YouTuber OR Music Artist (Except for professional recordings)
This is an outstanding microphone. It definitely makes home recording much easier! - Buying this has saved me some money (not loads - but a good enough amount - Roughly £30). I am a drummer looking to do some home YouTube-ing cover videos. This does the job I want it. I wouldn't however recommend buying this for recording professional music as you cannot tweak individual components of your kit (e.g. snare, toms, bass, etc.). This product isn't for you then. I have read about the low pick up. This didn't happen for me. I use a mac (IOS). I plugged the microphone in and turned up the pick up in the system preferences and there was no issue. - I use Garage Band to record my covers. The only reason for the 4 star review is for one, you cannot record all your drum professionally. And the fact that the CD with the extra's provided is useless (Audacity, Juice and PodNova). All of the programs are out dated and you cannot use them as Apple doesn't support them any more. HOWEVER, I would encourage you to use Garage Band as it is a much better program to record music anyways - The monitor feedback tool is very useful! it gives you a good sense of your sound without having to record and move the mic. I hope this review helps. If you want to listen to any of the recording I do or any YouTuber does, simply search for "Behringer C-1U Drums" - This will bring up plenty of examples! REMEMBER: MIC placement is key when using only one mic!

ill Mic
Ignore all the bad reviews, these people probably cant sing or rap so they blame they mic. For the price, usb functionality and all..this mic is ill as hell... I been using it for a long time and I have finished a lot of projects with this piece of equipment, rap and voice acting and similar tasks. Like every mic, the sound quality depends on your surroundings, so if you're not in a professional studio, any mic will sound dodgy..unless you work well to create a professional recording setting you wont get good vocals... I bought a mic booth/shield which goes around the mic which simulates being inside a studio, it prevents echoes/reflection and makes the voice crisp and perfect, I wonder if the people giving bad reviews tried this, I doubt it. This mic has never given me any problems, and if you want a sick mic but don't wanna bust your wallet/purse on phantom power equipment, then this is for you. It has worked well so far with all the different software I have used, including fruity loops and audacity.

A decent mic
A decent bit of kit. Clear sound, good range, doesn't pick up background noise. Only downside, as others have said, sound level is quite low, so you need to ensure you're close to the microphone and crank the gain right up on your recording.

Nice
My son was looking at much more expensive microphones until a DJ recommended he tries this one, he is delighted with the recording and sound of audio, the look of it and the general feel of quality. Highly recommended

Ok

If you are looking for a nice quality in low price, this is the way to go. It is a little quiet, so you need to talk close to it, because it is powered by 5V from USB port, and not as professional expensive stuff by PHANTOM (around 40V). So for PC usage, must have.

The Behringer C1U is a USB powered large diaphragm mic. This mic is modeled after its non-usb counterpart, the C1. The sound quality of this mic is great. It's very sensitive and the large diaphragm allows for even the deepest bass sounds to be recorded in extreme high quality. Since this is a USB mic, there are no connection noise issues that may be in some of the XLR connected mics. I highly recommend this!
