Brilliant but so far!
Excellent. Bought for a family member who has recently had operation requiring sleeping on ground floor for some weeks. He's 6'1" and this bed has suited his needs with a great level of comfort. Bed is easy to operate, wheels make it easy work to store away during the day. No assembly besides adding head board required but to date I've not added it yet as it meets our needs without it for now. Spring mattress is comfortable-stable but bouncy and I'm pleased with mattress depth. Bed is quite low but as expected for an occasional bed. I've since purchased the JAY be cover for storage to keep it clean as well as adding a mattress protector. It's absolutely been a great purchase so far. Delivery men were happy to place in room of choice and unpackage but this wasn't required. I'll update my review when family member has recovered but after 8 days of use, the quality of sleep is so far very good. Worth the money at this stage-very good bed, well made, easy to use and fold up.

Well worth the price, comfortable!!!!
October 2019 - bed still in good working order and still in daily use! **************************************** 7th May 2019 - bed still folds perfectly, mattress in same condition as when purchased and its used daily - really excellent buy. ***************************************** 15th January 2019, bed will be 2 years in February - used daily and still in perfect working order, mattress is as good as when I bought it. *************************************** Just a quick update, I have had this bed for a year now and it’s in use daily. The bed still folds with ease and the mattress still comfortable. Despite being folded in the middle when sleeping you can’t feel where it’s been folded. This bed is still excellent after a full year of use, I have noticed that some people say the mattress is squashy and not like an ordinary mattress, this is true it is squashy but I think that’s what gives it durability. Still very happy with purchase. ******* Below is my original review, thought I would just do a very quick update - I have had the bed 6 months , it's being used every day and I still give it 5 stars - more if possible. After 6 months of continuous use the mattress is perfect, comfortable and showing no signs of sagging. The bed still unfolds with ease - excellent bed. ****** This bed is brilliant!! I have another Jay-Be folding bed with a thin pocket sprung mattress and wooden slatted base which to be honest wasn't the best buy. It felt unstable and after a couple nights was really uncomfortable. That type of folding bed is for occasional use and in my opinion was even any good for that. I needed a good quality folding bed with a better build and COMFORTABLE! I wasn't keen on buying from Jay-Be again but after searching on the internet for what seemed far too long I realised that Jay-Be was probably my only real option. This Crown bed is for contract use which meets a different level of standard - hence the price. I spent ages looking at reviews and pictures, the thicker mattress looked good but was worried it might be permanently buckled in the middle from the folding. Eventually I bought it and what a buy, so happy I took the plunge. The build is strong, no creaky legs and movement. The mattress is comfortable!!! The base is sprung, almost like a trampoline (but not bouncy) which supports the mattress and aids all round comfort. It feels like an ordinary bed, you can sit against the headboard and read without feeling like it'll collapse, the mattress doesn't show any signs of folding when you open it out -how? - who knows! I hope this all will stand the test of time as I use this bed as suggested by Jay-Be on a regular basis. I honestly can't get over that fact that it just feels like an standard bed when sleeping. Very Very happy. My only niggles and this would be a suggestion to Jay-Be and not the actual quality of bed is the castors are 360 so although this should give more movability it generally causes it to wobble and 'go off' in it's own direction rather than where I aim it - also for the price it would be so good if it was supplied with a cover, as a contract bed I'm sure hotels etc probably get a deal so it would be nice to have had it supplied. Other than that a fantastic folding bed. If anything changes I will update review. ————— April 2020, still in great working order, mattress perfect and folds with no problems ————— January 2023 Still fine, mattress is feeling a bit used but the bed folds perfectly and I just use a mattress topper.

Expensive but quite comfortable
Needed a small bed for a tiny box room and a folding bed seemed ideal. It's easy to fold and unfold. The mattress is quite comfortable and thick. The base metal makes sound everytime you make even slight contact. Makes no sound when you are actually on bed. It's lower than a standard bed. The mattress has slight dip in middle obviously due to needs of folding. Comes fill assembled and not too heavy. Seems fairly secure and well made. If you're looking for a folding bed with comfortable thick mattress it should be ideal. This bed has a small headboard. The reason gave 4 stars because it is expensive. I have used it while I'm having my house decorated and I quite like it and have no issue with the bed itself. *UPDATE* After having bed for about 2 months and occasional use I find the following issues. One being the bed makes metal banging noise with slight or brush against. However this does not happen when using the bed. The second concern is the bobbling of mattress even though i have use a high quality bed sheet. You can also feel the spring protruding slightly in areas of use.

Divorce force!
Separating from husband, who I'm forced to live with until house is sold, so needed a bed to put in daughters room for me, while he starfishes in our superking bed scratching his balls. So I've gone from a comfy superking bed to this single, but safe in the knowledge his grotesque toes nails will no longer be anywhere near me. I suffer with lower back pain, mainly from carrying his lazy arse for 15 years, and while this mattress is softer, it is comfortable and any mattress causing back pain will be a worthy trade off. It does take a bit of a push to close up, but I simply imagine his balls trapped between the mattress and springs, and suddenly the task becomes a therapy session. Was easy to attach the headboard and added to my training for single life as I soon realised I didn't need his help after all. Will update on the durability in the future along with any divorce updates. UPDATE - Finally divorced! I ended up sleeping on this bed every night for a total of 6 months. It was brilliant. So glad I paid for the deluxe version. Would have been better if it had been just a bit wider but I managed and slept well knowing that my new single status was becoming a reality and not just a dream. I've now moved into my own place and the bed came with me for when friends stay over. They also find it very comfortable. A win win all round.

Don't Put Your Guests On Anything Else
This bed is the king of guest beds. You get what you pay for and this bed is worth every penny and more. I've slept on it solidly for a week now and it is as comfortable as a regular bed, if not better. In fact I've rarely slept better. The construction is robust and solid. Excellent folding mechanism. The sides glide down effortlessly into place, and spring up again, smooth and feather-light. I was astonished to see such a thick mattress stow folded in half so easily then open flat and assume a plump shape without a hint of a crumple or dip. The wheels are good quality and of a gauge appropriate to the weight of the folded unit. It moves around very nicely. Moving/ erecting and stowing are all a one-person task. The headboard fixes easily and with only three screw fittings is sturdy enough for a man to sit up against without give. We had a problem with this delivery at the Amazon end. Regrettably they declined to rectify the issue. As a long shot I contacted Jay-Be beds UK direct, and they could not have been more helpful. Considering we did not purchase the bed from them directly, we were blown away by their attention to detail and generosity. A Class A company with faultless customer service and a top quality product. Invest in this item with confidence.

Comfortable, and easy to store.
I use my spare room as a craft room. That becomes a problem when my Son or Sister comes to stay. I've bought cheap z beds and found them cumbersome to pack away. Also they are not comfortable. Th Jay B Crown bed is a completely different story. Its easy to fold. Has a solid headboard that I can use as a shelf when the bed isn't needed. As for sleeping on it. It's great. It's stabe. Easy to assemble, and my guests say they have a great night's sleep. This lightweight, but sturdy bed fantastic. I am so pleased with this purchase. It was worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Almost perfect!
Love this bed. I have filled my spare room with built in wardrobes for my excess stuff so I no longer have room for a proper bed or even a traditional sofa bed. One of these seemed to fit the bill. I researched the many different styles and was originally going to go for the slats version but reviews of broken ones put me off as I am pretty heavy! This one is toward the top of the range in terms of both price and designed use and it does indeed feel very strong. It fit through the gap I have beautifully despite being the biggest one they do. There was a reviewer who complained that this model unfolds in an uncontrolled manner but mine certainly didn't. It was easy to lower after undoing the strap that helps hold the frame together. It turns out the strap isn't essential but it reassures me against unsolicited unfolding which I fear my cat would try. However, once the headboard is attached the strap cannot be used across the top so I have invested in two leather straps which I will use, one on each side, to ensure the bed remains folded. The headboard was very fiddly to fit on my own but I managed it. No tools were required and two allen keys were provided but if you have a workshop type allen key that is bigger and sturdier it would probably be easier. You will of course need two! The bed is indeed quite soft to lay on but this won't bother me for just a few nights. As I can't fit a double size one in there, I will be giving up my own bed to visiting couples but that's not a problem. I also invested in the made to fit cover and whilst expensive for the spun breathable synthetic material, it does fit nicely and looks good. I also love the better steel wheels on this model rather than the plastic castors on the other beds. I think this bed will last many years and I'm pleased with my purchase. If anyone has any questions; please feel free to ask. Thanks for reading this far!

Ideal as spare, ready for action, bed.
Very comfortable. Folded, takes little space and the bedhead becomes a shelf . Takes minutes to assemble and is ideal for guests. Perhaps a little low for elderly guests.
