Every Gym User Should Have These
Having tried just about every type of gym strap available, from wraps to hooks, I was left speechless by this offering from Bear Grip. I saw the recommendation by Dr Mike on his Renaissance Periodization videos for this style of grip but the ones he named are over £60. I saw these Bear Grips for under £20 and they look identical. I read the reviews and they were stellar so I took a punt. I am so glad I did. They arrived quickly and in brand new condition. I tried them today and I can honestly say that all the other grips I have are going in a storage bag in the garage as I won’t ever be using them again. Simply put, these are perfect. They take all the effort of gripping heavy weights out of the equation and leave you to focus on the core muscles you are targeting. So today I shrugged 36kg dumbbells with ease. I could have held them for an hour as my grip just didn’t give up. I was left to make a mind connection with my traps and I have never hit them like this before. Amazing. Yes, it probably means I am taking out some of the grip training from my forearms but this should easily be compensated for by the rise in the weights I can handle. I moved rapidly through the dumbbell rack and ended on the 44kg and I still could have gone higher. The straps are very accommodating for a wide range of wrist thickness so pretty much one size fits all. On the inside are two foam cushioning pads that mean despite the heavy weight, the straps do not dig into the skin on the wrists - making them super comfy. There is no faffing about like with regular straps when it comes to wrapping the bar. You simply flick the tongue over and the material is rigid and tactile enough to grab on the other side under the fleshy part of your palm. There is no time wasted and you can begin the exercise immediately. Also, unlike with hooks you aren’t stuck at the end with the heavy load in tired arms because you are able to effortlessly disengage from the weight by simply loosening the fingers and lifting the palm to release the tongue. Therefore you can knock out those final fatiguing reps safe in the knowledge you won’t get in a difficult disengagement at the end. I wanted to add some negatives to balance the review but I seriously can’t. I come from a family with seamstresses and so I know about stitches too and the needle work on these is perfect. Absolutely no issues with the quality control. I can see these lasting until my old age. I even chatted with the company. They are clearly 100% behind their product with exemplary customer support. I recommend any gym goer, from amateur to professional, to grab a pair of these. You won’t be disappointed.

Tried these, never looked back!
Fantastic, durable grip support. I previously used normal lifting straps which exacerbated tendinitis on my wrists, these however do not cause any issues like that. They're very comfortable, with good wrist padding, adjustable fit and great quick grip. They have proven very durable compared to anything else I've used for grip support.

Revolutionary bit of kit. PB’s galore !
Wow, just wow! I’m slightly newer to weight training and I was really struggling with my grip failing meaning I wasn’t reaching my potential. These have absolutely transformed my pull day. No more calluses and no more sore hands. I managed numerous PB’s after using these. They look decent and feel very comfortable. Very very well made and the actual flappy part is very good and grippy! The standard size fit very well on me! Took a couple uses to get 100% used to them but man they’re so much easier than lifting straps. I found they supported my wrist very well as well. I did have to move my Apple Watch slightly further up my arm but not much. Still recorded my heart rate fine and wasn’t uncomfortable. If you haven’t already bought these. Do it!

Worth the Extra Cost
Don't normally write positive reviews if something does the job. These are absolutely game changing. Any kind of pull exercise where your forearms are the limiting factor these completely eliminate. Very comfy, the grips are super grippy and they just feel great quality. Don't doubt the extra cost for these just get them.

Great quality and grip as per
Been using these for ages, just replacing old ones that were damaged unintentionally. These will last you through wars. Fit is great, as well as wrist support.

Got mine delivered today on rest day. I ordered the normal rubber sized grips. I've tried them on and they seem like they'll be durable. I will update this tomorrow though. I'm 5"9 and lift fairly heavy. I have normal sized hands and after trying these on I'm skeptical as to the length that they'll fit round the Olympic barbells and still maintain a decent grip etc. I'm testing my 1RM's next session so will update then. UPDATE After lockdowns, those who worked out regularly can all agree we want to get back to lifting what we did beforehand. Although I'm not there yet, obviously, these grips helped out massively when I tested my 1RM a couple times today. One variable, this isy first 1RM since lockdown finished. I used the grips for deadlifts, lat pull downs, and up right rows. I use the EZ bar for bent over rows and don't feel these grips would be suitable for that bar. My trepidations yesterday were smashed today. The length is just right but I do think it'd be nice to have a little more material to play with and make it easier to wrap around the bars. Deadlifts - work really well with an overhand grip. I can definitely feel my lower back working more due to the grip working. Lat pulldown - Easy work. Yet again, the grips engaged my lats more. I was starting to get impressed by how much the mind muscle connection clicked more because of it and I'm a qualified sports scientist, lecturer and qualify personal trainers. Upright row - Smashed it. With the grip I was able to add another 15kg and complete my sets comfortably. They feel durable also. I have little baby wrists and they still fit and I'm looking forward to seeing how they hold up as I get closer to what I was lifting prior to lockdown. I'm thoroughly impressed. Good job!

Okay. Not a great material if you're sweaty.
They're easier to get on for your non-dominant hand than straps are. Felt more secure than figure 8 straps But, they're not great if you're sweaty. These were good for the lat pulldowns and rows towards the start of my back day but I struggled with them for the deadlift set at the end. Felt like they were slipping out of my hands once I was sweaty. I'll try them with chalk but they could be made out of a better textured material to get around that.
