Review: Procter Pest-Stop... fantastic humane trap for very little money!!! - After spotting something quickly darting across the kitchen floor a week ago, I was hoping my eyes were deceiving me but after leaving a spot of cheese on the floor, it had later gone! Seeing as we don't own pets, I thought I'd better start looking for a humane mouse trap to capture and release our new house mates. I ordered the product on 11 Oct. and took the free delivery option which meant waiting for 4 days to arrive. I'd advise anyone with a mouse problem, to pay extra for next day delivery!! In the mean time, I went to the local DIY shop for some cheap humane traps to try whilst I waited for this product. I ended up with some traps called Big Cheese (STV Pest Patrol) and they were poor quality, with the door mechanism not really working and it certainly caught zero mice with the bait either gone or the trap door closed before the mouse entered!! I was pleased the day the postman turned up with the Pest-Stop!! I followed the instructions and baited my trap with a chunk of cheese and left it out before going to bed, by morning I had my first mouse. As advised on the box, I released the mouse a quarter of a mile away from my house at the local golf course. The trap then needed cleaning before leaving out once more which can be done with relative ease, as the trap is assembled in 3 sections that can be removed. Unfortunately for me, whilst re-assembling the trap flap to the main trap, I dropped it and the fall caused the trap flap (door) hinge to break off meaning the trap would no longer work but after contacting the customer services department to see if I could purchase a new trap flap to fit back in my trap, I was offered a full replacement free of charge, so 10 out of 10 to the manufacturer for customer service!! I've since left a few potatoes out to see if more mice are around as I've not seen any, but sure enough, bits of potato have been bitten into, so I've now ordered another 2 of these traps to leave out around the kitchen/lower cupboards to try and capture and release as many mice as I can in the shortest possible time. If you think you have a mouse problem and don't want to call in the experts, I can highly recommend this product as an easy to use and successful mouse trap! I wish I had bought a couple of these traps to start with, but you live and learn!!

I bought these traps to return my resident mouse back to the wild, where it belongs. I left crunchy nut cornflakes and a capful of water for it for the first 2 days, so it had an easy food source, and would come back to the same place. 3rd day I placed the cornflakes in the trap. The advice is to not leave the trap overnight because it stresses the mouse, so I took it out of the cupboard where the mouse lived, before I went to bed, and placed it on the sink. In the morning I went to put the trap back in the cupboard, and there it was, in the trap! I have no idea how it got up there, there's no gaps for it to climb, just wall. I didn't take a photo because it must have been extremely stressed overnight, I released it as quickly as possible at the bottom of the garden (yes, I know, should have taken it further). Back to the trap. It feels quite flimsy, but was sturdy enough to keep the mouse contained and to safely transport it. Effective and simple design, I highly recommend it. Check it frequently because it's a very small trap, and the mouse will die in that small space if it's left too long, defeating the object! Best of all, you won't have rotting mice tucked away somewhere, as you would using poison (horrible way to go). My conscience is clear, thanks Pest-Stop!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Procter Pest-Stop... fantastic humane trap for very little money!!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, but not the best.

Having had a recent mouse problem, I panic-purchased several different types of mouse traps. After feeling guilty about the killer-type traps (literally Deathtraps!) I disposed of them and stuck to humane traps. And this was the best of the ones I used. This is similar in design and function as Trixie Mouse Trap, 6 x 4.5 x 17 cm but costs a little less. You can see the quality difference if you compare the two. The more expensive trap has a proper panel to open in order to access the trap to bait it and for release of the mouse, however this trap requires you to detach the back from the front which is a bit fiddly and I don't trust it to last very long as you have to flex the plastic every time. As this is made form thinner materials it doesn't feel as substantial. To use, you pull the trap apart and bait it, then push it back together again. To set the trap you simply pull out the green tab at the front and raise the 'trap door'. The door is held in place by a lip of plastic wedged ontop of a mechanism, this mechanism is activated by pressure - so when a mouse wanders in and goes to the bait, the trap door descend and the mouse remains inside. As this is very lightweight - on one occassion the door didn't fall and I basically treated a mouse some chocolate digestive biscuit. This is slighty tinted so that the mouse feels relaxed inside, but you can easily see inside to see what you've caught - you'll also know because the green tab at the front will be raised to indicate that the trapdoor is closed. If you accidentally trigger the trap by knocking it, it's easy to reset. And once you have caught a mouse - you can safely pick up the trap and transport it without the critter escaping. However releasing the mouse requires you to raise the trap door and those who aren't very good around mice might not like the fact that your fingers will be right over the escape route, especially if you have a feisty mouse (again, the more expensive trap has a better release solution as you just raise a panel at the back). In a nutshell: An solution which works well but others do it better. This can be re-used and should last some time but I'd be tempted to pay a little bit more for the more solidly built variation on the same type of design. As these are very inexpensive through - I would recommend these if you want to place a lot of traps.
