I can apply my own makeup over it without any problems. I haven't seen a huge difference in my skin, but as I said I have only been using this product for a few days. However, my skin does feel somewhat softer and my pores aren't so visible like before.A few drawbacks though - this gel has a unique chemical like smell which I don't really care for. When I do apply the product my skin turns pink and gets a slight tingling sensation. I don't know if that has to do with the chemical smell, my sensitive skin, or a specific ingredient in the product, but the pinkness goes away and the scent does fade. This gel is made in Germany and the information on the box was in a variety of various languages, but none in English which I wish was included on the box nor on the actual tube.Update: I have been using this product now for about 2 weeks, maybe a few days more, but my skin is taking on a new look and I like it. It is more pink and looks more youthful. The chemical smell that I was having an issue with previously is gone now, so maybe it was just due to the packaging, I don't know but there is no smell now and the tingling of my skin when I apply has gone as well. I am extremely pleased with how my skin looks now. I also have noticed that the fine lines around my out eye area is going away. It was cost prohibitive for me when I was raising my children. I did not know what to expect with this product. I will perhaps not be the expert reviewer on a product like this due to my inept ignorance of products like this. The product label states that it smoothes out fine lines, and I don't have a reason to doubt this. When I applied it, there was no such expectation, as I the lines on my face are large and of long standing. One wouldn't expect miracles like that for a person such as myself. I did find, however, that it left my skin very soft and smooth. When I was young, I was always told how soft my skin felt, but since I've aged, my facial skin has become rough like sandpaper. Just a small application of this creme cleared that up. To be honest, I've always been somewhar skeptical of products like this, but I can now be assured that they do come with some benefits, even if the wrinkles persist.
