They have lasted very well, and don't seem to pick up scratches. They are terrific value for the price. This allows the old refill to be pulled out, which, in turn, pulls down the "carriage" with a hole in the end where you push the new refill. You push that, firmly right back, so the silver tip can be screwed back on - end of operation! **Q: Can this be used for the Filofax Fashion Ballpen too?** A: I honestly do not know.
