Just the job!
I have no issues at all with the quality of this item and it worked out perfectly for the (risky) job I had in mind. I love it when a plan comes together! I bought the set primarily to solve a problem with a small, black, burn mark on the nearly new, light coloured vinyl floor covering in my kitchen. I first chose a punch of the appropriate size from the set and after summoning up the courage I punched out a single hole in the flooring (whilst still in place) to completely remove the burn mark. I then punched out a replacement 'disc' from some spare vinyl which was left over when it was laid, being careful to pick as close a colour match as I could. To my great relief the replacement disc, once smeared with a little flexible glue, was a perfect fit with the exposed hole in the flooring and completed an almost invisible mend. Perfect! The bonus is that I also have several leather belts that I can't wear because I have run out of holes (I'd like to think it's because I have lost inches around the waist but it's more likely that the belts have stretched under the strain!). My next job will be to punch out a few more holes in them too.

It would have been nice to have included a neat plastic case in the ...
I wanted to punch holes in some heavy-duty felt washers to stick on the feet of some chairs around their hemispherical metal inserts which were designed to prevent the chairs slipping on carpets but which scratched our wooden floor. There was a large selection of sizes in this punch kit, and I had to use one of the biggest for this purpose. It needed heavy blows with a hammer on the top of the punch to force the cutter through the felt, but it did the job well. Obviously I don't know how long the cutters would stay sharp if used repeatedly, but to cut about a dozen washers, the kit worked well. The punches are heavy and solidly-built. It would have been nice to have included a neat plastic case in the kit to store them in between uses. But the price was attractive for the large selection of cutters provided. Much better value than the smaller selection of narrower cutters I saw in my local Homebase.

Can't grumble at this price
These punches can be either like these - cheap, cheerful & Chinese or top quality expensive. For a DIYer like me, they're ok. They are obviously strong & the larger ones are heavy but as some other reviewers have commented they're not that sharp. Sharpening a round hollow punch is not that easy. A tapered round file inserted will sharpen the inner surface & a small drill grind stone will hone the outer one but it's fiddly. Specialised conical sharpeners are expensive, costing at least twice what you p paid for your punches but still less to fork out than you'd pay for a "professional" set. These come in one of those awful bonded plastic packs sealed around all four sides. You have to open the pack with scissors leaving you with the set loose so you'll need a decent strong container for them. Wouldn't recommend having them just loose in your toolbox as there's a lot of them & I think they'll survive best in a sealed container with a smear of oil on them to prevent rusting. On a positive note they come in good useful sizes. Some sets only go up to 10mm. If like me you are using them to make the holes in custom automotive gaskets you need larger size punches like this set has. Watch your fingers on the cut outs (where the punched out material is removed from) they're sharper by far than the actual punch holes!

Great Value but you will need to sharpen them.
they are not sharp but I popped the smaller ones into a drill and ran it against a bench grinder while rotating in the drill and in no time they were sharp. cut nice a clean. for the price great value and nice and strong. not sure about the accuracy of the hole size.

Toolzone 12pc punch set
Good heavy steel punches. A little rough around the edges and the waste aperture has very sharp edges hence only 4 stars but for the price I can't lay any serious criticism on these punches. They cost for 12 what a good quality named brand would cost for 1 so it's a no brainer really.
