Great Quality and Holds TWO Sticks of Butter!!
I know it sounds silly, but I looked and looked at butter dishes. I was somewhat hesitant to order this because of some of the reviewers saying it was a bit too hard to hold. I wanted something a little unique, but hiqh quality. I am now pleased with my purchase. This is obviously well crafted, heavy, and not prone to breaking. It holds two sticks of butter (we put one butter, one marg) very easily. It fits in our butter compartment in the fridge nicely also. As to my main concern pretaining to size being hard to grasp,as noted by others,we have not had that as an issue. My 4 year old can easily carry it and pass it, and none of the children have dropped it or lost thier grip. It is oversized, but that just adds to the functional aspect of it. I will most likely consider this brand before others for similar purchases in the future because it is a well done product.

Best Butter Dish
I ordered this because I was frustrated with our old chipped covered crystal butter dish that would hold exactly ONE stick of butter, and not a smidgen more (so if you tried to add a new stick when you were running low, it would end up smearing all over the cover...consequently I would wait to add the new stick of butter until the old stick was completely gone, and then the butter would still be hard when I wanted to use it). I remembered my mother having an antique butter dish very similar to this Tablecraft one. The price was very affordable, and I am delighted with the product. It arrived safely (it was well wrapped with protective rubber corners). It will hold up to two sticks of butter without any of the butter getting on the lid. You can use it four different ways -- I even had my husband try it and he was impressed with the versatility and size. We prefer having the big part on the bottom, with the nested lid in the 'raised' position, for the greatest capacity and least mess.

Enjoy the product
Great butter dish - fits 2 regular butter sticks or one large block style. This is a replacement for the one we had for several years. A large glass spice jar dropped from cabinet onto the butter dish top, causing a small chip and crack in the glass. The bottom dish is still like new after many years, so I can still use it interchangeably though I only have one top cover now. I'm convinced this butter dish would have lasted a lifetime otherwise. It is well made and durable, with a simple and efficient design. No problems washing it in the dishwasher either. Highly recommended.

That's one BIG butter dish
Broke the old glass butter dish and needed a new one. Liked the looks of the Tablecraft and ordered it without checking the dimensions....this is a big butter dish. Still fits in the door of my fridge, but just barely. Not quite big enough to hold 2 sticks of butter at once, though. Other than that, it's just fine. Looks good on the table. What else can I say...it's a butter dish!

Just what I wanted
Here in California, we have the "fat" sticks of butter. This butter dish has plenty of room. Now my lid won't get "yuckified" from hitting the edges of the butter. This very sturdy, a little heavy, but exactly what I wanted. I also ordered the butter dish from Circleware Farm (2-piece Butter/cream cheese multipurpose covered dish.) I wanted to see which one my mother wanted, and then I would keep the other. There was at that time a $5 price difference between the two. Much to my surprise, the dishes were the same, just different packaging (one had a box) and a different name stamped into the glass at one end. Had I known they were virtually the same, I would have ordered two of the cheaper one. Today when I looked, there is a $1 price difference. So, get whichever one you want. It's a good product.

Love the size
It took me some time to actually find this product to replace the one I broke. We had one of these for years (until I broke the base), and loved the size, since it holds 2 sticks of butter. What else can be said, it does what it says and does it well. Our original came from Bed, Bath, and beyond, but they no longer carry this item. Heavy duty ribbing, looks good, and fits the butter compartment. You might be surprised how much you need more than one stick of butter handy, but use it and you will see that it fits a need. I got 2, in case I break another...

It's a wide butter dish. For me had to grip.
It is wide. Like cream cheese or 2 sticks of butter. Has vertical raised stripes. For someone who has gripping problems it doesn't work well

Great butter dish
This is a review for the 'Tablecraft Ribbed Glass Butter Dish. Great butter dish, large enough to hold 2 8z sticks of butter or 1 of the European butters. It is glass, no plastic, easy to clean. Can also be used upside down.

Vintage Feel
I have a farmhouse decor style and this fits in great. Reminds me of the one that was on my Grandmother’s table. Definitely gives a vintage vibe.

Does NOT fit a Canadian pound of butter
This product does NOT fit a Canadian pound of butter and I was very disappointed. It needs an entire inch cut off or have the lid dangle there on top of the butter. Unless you are in the habit of cutting your pounds of butter in half the long way....I do not recommend it. You need to buy a butter dish made in Canada or US....which is rare as hens teeth.

Solid construction
This butter dish is very well made. I bought it to have two so I could still have one in use when the other is in the dishwasher.

A fine dish for smaller sticks of butter, but too small for 454g blocks
One of the images implies that this can hold a large block of butter, but in reality it is roughly 1/4 inch too short to fit a 454g block of butter. Other than being a bit too small, it's a fine dish. Sadly, I will be returning it.
