Does esc support dshot?

Can this fc power the receiver by just plugging in the usb-c plug, or does it have to have a battery to power the receiver on?

If you connect the receiver to a pad supplying 4.5V, labeled 4V5, the receiver will power up from USB. 5V pads are not powered from USB.

Do i need to look at sbus or ppm receivers to use this component?

The FC has plenty of UARTs. You can use SBUS, PPM, etc. I am running Crossfire on mine. The wiring diagram will show many RX options. GREAT stack for the money, and the Bluetooth function is awesome. GET IT!!!
