Review: Great expansion to a great game - Full disclosure, “casual” games aren’t my usual thing. I’m more of the super complex, one game lasts 4-5 hours sorta gamer. (Sounds like hell to many, right?) But Hanabi (and this expansion by proxy) have been a great compromise of ease meets interesting for more “casual” engagement with friends and family. Totally a worthy add high up in the ranks of my 400+ game collection. A+
Review: Will stick to original game - Not a fan of the cards or concept, ending up returning them. The color was slightly different than original game so if you looked close you could tell and cheat.

- Expansion to Base Game: Black Powder is the 2nd expansion for Hanabi, adding 10 additional cards to your game. It offers four different game variants, including adding a sixth suit and wildcards, to keep the gameplay fresh and challenging for players
- Black Powder cards are never part of color clues and must be played 5 to 1. There are three 5s and one 1 instead of the other way around, like in the base game
- The game is compatible with the base R&R version of the game. (European versions of the game are not compatible with this expansion.)
- Cooperative Game: Working together, players must give and receive vital information to play cards in the proper launch sequence. However, the unique twist in this game is that the players can see what cards everyone holds…except their own

Not a fan of the cards or concept, ending up returning them. The color was slightly different than original game so if you looked close you could tell and cheat.

This expansion has cards that differ in size from the main game. This makes it easy to know what cards are the black powder ones in hand. Has anyone else had this issue? Maybe these are for a different version of the main game. There's no designation for which it would work with though. Oh well, guess I'll be returning this.
