Simple setup. Flatbed scanner, great print quality!
We had an Epson that lasted eight years. So much printing that the print head actually wore out. We bought an HP Deskjet to replace it. Eleven months nightmare. Trashed the new HP this morning. This XP4200 setup was easy and connecting it to my Android took under three minutes. Easy instructions. Epson stuck with a good thing and it works. Very happy with Epson as usual. Total time from box to printing was forty five minutes. That's excellent! Note: I never use off brand cartridges. A few have posted about this printer using only Epson ink or requiring a Firmware update for off brand cartridges. I never used off brand with our old Epson and for eight years it had no issues other than in the last few months of that eight years the print head was worn out. It was very similar to this one and three Masters Degrees were earned by our children and that printer was a workhorse!!

Bare-Bone Printer | Only Offers A Single Page Scan
My previous Epson printer decided it was time to quit after years of reliably working. It was old, but it was fast at printing, and I could feed multiple pages for scanning. Albeit my world revolves around digital content, so printing is not on top of my list other than really documents, but the few times a year I need a printer and not having one really is a pain hence, I picked up this Epson on sale… PRINTING For the money, the printer is great for printing documents. The font print is clear and well defined. Regarding graphics, I've only printed a few pages with graphics. The graphics were decent, but then again, I was printing on 20 lb. paper and the graphics were from a website receipt. It common for web developers to make file sizes smaller to speed load times and take up less space so issue could be the website file size. It’s not really a biggie for me. SCANNING The unit only scans one page at a time. In other words, there is no feeder to feed multiple pages to scan automatically one after another. I knew this when I got it, but I will deal with it because I didn’t want to drop another $400+ for a printer that I will hardly use. SETUP Easy, it’s a wireless printer and has an intuitive app… CONCLUSION Overall, it’s a decent printer, but it’s a bare-bone printer that only offers a single page scan (no multi-page feeder) option. If this is what you're looking for, you found it. You won't be disappointed.

Was great until the firmware update
It's difficult to do a review on this printer since I can't use it anymore and can't tell you about all the great options it's supposed to have but I will try. Wireless connectivity is unpredictable . I'm always having to go into the menu which is very tedious and reconnect and has nothing to do with my router or my modem because everything else on my network connects just fine. The print quality is questionable seems no matter how clean the inkjets are I always get streaks and error messages. This happens no matter what brand of ink I use. So, I stopped buying the expensive Epson brand if I'm going to get poor quality. The noise level well that's something you're going to have to get used to and it's very slow making the noise level last a long time however; This WAS a fantastic piece of machinery until Epson got greedy and decided to send out an update to the firmware making the printer unusable if you do not use EPSON brand cartridges ONLY. That's great except that those tiny ink cartridges don't last more than a few weeks and come with a very huge price tag not everybody can afford them. I'm nowhere near rich; it takes me a ridiculous amount of time to save money. I swear I printed about three or four documents average quality prints and already it was prompting me to buy more of their exclusive ink cartridges. Not to mention all the copies that came out with poor quality. (three). Even the black color is ridiculously priced. But EPSON knows that. Makes me regret getting an Epson. That's two printers that I have that I can't use because of their clever upgrade. A complete waste of money that I don't have. I positively can't stand this company anymore. Why not send out a firmware update so we have to use exorbitantly priced paper made of birch trees in the paper tray too? There's absolutely nothing I can do to make this printer work or be useful except to sell it, but nobody wants Epson because they're not a budget-friendly company. Buy their proprietary garbage only and you'll be fine (and broke). - Try to use affordable third-party ink cartridges and end up having a printer that does nothing except collect dust and make you regret ever spending any money on them ever again. Great job! By the way there's lots of redundant software on this printer that you'll never use, it makes it very confusing while trying to navigate through the menu as you read all the error messages. I'd suggest any other printer just not EPSON. Unless you like error messages. Glad I could help!

Great Product!
I really like this printer. However, I'm 73 years old, and processing the ink cartridge insertion was a little tedious and time consuming.

Well Worth The Money
I set this printer up in just a few minutes. It connected to my laptop and phone wirelessly very easily. I read a lot of reviews on this product before buying, and there were some bad ones, but I can’t imagine why. I really didn’t expect a lot, because the price was so low, and in most cases, you get what you pay for. But, I took a chance because I don’t use a printer very often and didn’t want to pay for a high end printer. I am not very tech savvy, but I was able to set it up easily. I have printed over 500 pages and have not had any problems at all. I have also printed a bunch of photos and for the money I spent on this, I was very impressed. I give this printer 5 stars for performance, value, and ease of setup.

Ink is the biggest complaint
No issues so far. Only down side is if one ink is low it will not print using other colors and the ink runs out quickly.

Better than HP
Compared to HP printers which are infuriating to use, this one is more user-friendly.
