These are a great product very simple engineering but effective.
These are well designed and should last indefinitely. They hold a AA battery secure with a positive snap when installed. Will buy again although these will last a very long time. Maybe forever.

Simple Solution for Battery Compatibility
These battery adapters solve a common problem – when you need D batteries but only have AA batteries available. It's a simple concept that works remarkably well, and having a 10-pack means you're prepared for various devices around your home. The concept is straightforward but effective. You insert a standard AA battery into the adapter, and it converts it to D battery size. The adapter provides the physical dimensions needed to fit in D battery compartments while the AA battery supplies the power. It's an elegant solution that eliminates the need to keep multiple battery sizes stocked. Build quality is solid for what these are. They're made from durable plastic that holds up to repeated insertion and removal of batteries. The construction feels substantial enough to last through many battery changes. The fit is precise – AA batteries slide in securely and stay in place without rattling around. Contact points work reliably. The spring mechanism at one end ensures good electrical contact with the battery terminal. The contacts are positioned correctly to make proper connections in device battery compartments. Power transfer is consistent and reliable. Compatibility with devices is excellent. Any device that uses D batteries can work with these adapters, as long as the power requirements match what AA batteries can provide. They fit standard D battery compartments perfectly without being loose or too tight. The dimensional accuracy is spot-on. The 10-pack quantity is practical. D-battery devices often require multiple batteries – flashlights might need 2-4, boomboxes could need 6 or more. Having ten adapters means you can outfit multiple devices or have enough for one device plus spares. The quantity makes these useful for actual applications rather than just being a novelty. Cost savings over buying D batteries can be significant. AA batteries are generally cheaper and more commonly available than D batteries. If you already keep AA batteries stocked, these adapters let you use them in D-battery devices without having to buy separate D batteries. Over time, that flexibility saves money. Emergency preparedness benefits are real. When power goes out or you need battery-powered devices, being able to use your AA battery supply in D-battery equipment expands your options. Having these adapters as part of your emergency kit gives you more flexibility with limited battery resources. Storage is simple. The adapters are compact and lightweight. You can keep them stored with your battery supply, toss some in emergency kits, or keep them in various locations where D-battery devices are used. They don't take up much space and are always ready when needed. Color coding helps with organization. These are typically colored (often orange or another bright color), making them easy to identify among other items. That visibility means you can quickly find them when you need them. Environmental considerations are worth noting. While you're still using batteries, being able to use commonly available AA batteries in more devices means you can standardize your battery stock. This reduces the chance of having partially used D batteries that sit unused for long periods. Performance for appropriate applications works well. These are best for devices with moderate power demands. High-drain devices might drain AA batteries quickly, but for typical applications like flashlights, radios, and other moderate-power devices, the performance is perfectly adequate. Reusability makes these a long-term solution. Unlike disposable adapters or single-use solutions, these can be used indefinitely. Each time your AA batteries die, you just swap in fresh ones and keep using the same adapters. Weight reduction can be a minor benefit. AA batteries are lighter than D batteries, so devices equipped with these adapters will be slightly lighter. For portable equipment or devices you carry around, that reduced weight is a small but real advantage. Versatility extends beyond just home use. These are useful for camping, emergency preparedness, traveling, or any situation where minimizing the variety of battery sizes you need to carry is beneficial. Being able to use one battery size across multiple device types simplifies logistics. For anyone who has devices requiring D batteries but prefers the convenience and economy of AA batteries, these adapters are an excellent solution. They're well-made, work reliably, and provide genuine practical value. The 10-pack quantity gives you enough to outfit multiple devices while keeping your battery supply simplified and economical.

Good Low-Cost AA-to-D Adapters, with a Slightly Weaker Latch
These adapters are an inexpensive alternative to the better-known branded AA-to-D converters and cost only a fraction as much. The overall plastic quality is good for the price, and the dimensions match a standard D battery closely enough to fit properly in the devices I tried. The case closes with a click and does hold the AA battery in place, although the latch does not protrude as much as on the branded version. As a result, it does not lock quite as firmly, but it still works adequately during normal use. Each adapter holds one AA battery, so it provides the voltage of a D cell but not the same capacity or runtime. For devices that need more power, adapters that hold three AA batteries in one D-size shell may be a better choice. Overall, these are simple, functional spacers and a good value when maximum battery capacity is not required.

AA batteries are inexpensive and lightweight! D-cell batteries are neither 😬!
I bought these adaptors to allow the use of much less expensive AA batteries to power my D-cell LED flashlights. Since LEDs consume much less energy, a set of AA batteries can provide enough capacity to operate the flashlight a long time. An added bonus to the reduced cost, is the greatly reduced weight! An AA battery (in the adaptor) weighs about 25% of that of a standard D-cell. It's important to note that using AA cells (in adaptors) to power D-cell flashlights with incandescent bulbs (i.e. not LEDs) will have very short run times since incandescent bulbs consume way more energy than do LEDs. The adaptors seem to be of reasonable quality. The mechanism that holds the AA cell in the adaptor is a bit "touchy" an occasionally needs some manipulation to allow the battery to "snap" into position. For me, it's not a big issue. Initially, I was somewhat disappointed but once I found how easily the situation was remedied, my satisfaction was increased. While these adaptors could never be considered to be "tactical grade", I believe that they will last a long time. Once a battery is inserted and the unit is placed in the barrel of the flashlight, there are no stresses or strains to cause damage. The cost savings of using AA cells rather than D-cells make buying these adaptors a good idea. The weight saving is an added bonus.

Great product, super value for the money. No more D battery purchases!
Great product, super value for the money. These adapters allow you to use 1 rechargeable or regular AA battery in place of a D size battery. No more D battery purchases! Thank you! These adapters are great for older flashlights and electronics that require the D cell batteries. These use 1 AA cell. For reference, the AA size lithium ion 14500 rechargeable 3.7V cells fit these perfectly and AA battery blank spacers also fit these perfectly.

The tip of the adapter does not come far enough out to make contact
The plus (top) contact does not come out far enough to make a connection. These are made well enough and cheap enough, but they don't work in most of my devices. Too much trouble to return them for so little money.

Great Product
Whoever invented this product is a genius. Now I only have to buy AA batteries and I can use them for items that need C size batteries as well. Good quality. The pack of 10 pcs is great for toys that need 6 or 8 C size batteries to operate.
