Rick Steves Spain (Travel Guide)

This is the third Rick Steves guide I have purchased and it looks like it will be just as useful as the Italy and Provence guidebooks I used to help me navigate. The books are very detailed but also concise. They are written with humour and help you to plan and execute your trip as efficiently and enjoyably as possible. Just as important as the places to see are the places to avoid and Rick is happy to point these out. Anytime I visit Europe I will take Steve with me, great read and value.

I have used Rick’s books all through Europe, Italy, England, Scotland, the Baltic States. What can I say other than his recommendations have been spot on and the books have saved me time, money (research and discounts), while giving me a peace of mind about what is available. I am so excited about his books that when friends tell me they are heading to Europe, Rick’s books are my first gift to them. His books, let’s say resource is so critical for traveling that I have a whole shelf full of his books. Well done Rick!!!!!!

Travelled to Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada , Ronda and Seville. Rick Steves as always provide great advise and the tours in the book work for all the museums, castles and churches we visited, Also great lodging and eating recommendations. Recommend for anyone travelling to Spain.

Visited much of middle and southern Spain and this book was a treasure and at times a lifesaver. Some of the audio tours (Alhambra,Seville’s Alcazar, and La Mezquita)were lacking at some of the sites so we gave up and followed the book. I give it 4 stars because the city of Valencia is missing. It was my favorite city to visit this trip. Don’t miss it because it’s not in this book. Yes, the book is big, but so is Spain!

For almost 30 years, Rick Steves has been my guide when traveling to Europe. His books offer very practical, logical recommendations. He tells you what to see, but also what to avoid which is much appreciated. I've seen may other travel guides Rick's is the best. Let's Go and Lonely Planet are also worth noting, but Rick offers the most practical guide to traveling for those people who don't want a corporate, detached experience. My only minor complaint with this particular book is that it doesn't include Valencia. His book already determined where I'll stay in Madrid, and Google Maps reviews confirms it. Thank you, Rick.

This book was so helpful. I will buy his books for other countries. It had maps and times things were opened. I took it with me on my trip.

Had a trip to Italy and prepped with Rick Steves books, they're awesome. Had trip to Spain this year and this book covered several cities. While it didn't cover the city I visited the other items were beneficial (taxi/ride share, airport, culture).

We relied on this book for our 11 day Spain trip and had a wonderful time. It covers logistics information that made our trip smooth and little time wasted.

A slightly alternative guide book. More information on cities than a normal guidebook that covers one country.

We spent five days in Barcelona and followed most of the suggestions and visited the three star and all but one of the two star rated items in Barcelona and were not disappointed. We booked our entry tickets to the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Park Guel using our smartphones well before arriving in Barcelona. We tore out the section on Barcelona so that we did not have to carry the whole book while touring around the city. We started with hop-on hop-off bus tours and did his walking tours. We were lucky to be able to attend a low cost but excellent piano recital in the Palace of Catalan Music and therefore did not attend a tour of this building. The public transport system is excellent, efficient and low cost.
