Works great to sharpen pencils.
I love the pencils these are made for and the small hole sharpener also does regular pencils. This is easy to use and sharpens very quickly. The sharpener is wood or something similar and is big enough to grip and hold steady. Works great and keeps a point on all my pencils.

Nice sharpener, but may require adjustment
It didn't work effectively at first - the blade was misaligned and too high, so it was hard to get it to cut. I unscrewed it, took the blade out, cut away a little of the wood underneath and replaced the blade; now it works well. I guess it's harder to precision machine wood than metal, so results may vary. But now it works great!

Easy little pencil sharpener for my 6 year old. Sharpens well and good value.

Don't Buy This
Terrible sharpener. Just as a frame of reference, I have used manual pencil sharpeners for decades. This is by far the worst one I have ever used. The lead either breaks off immediately, it sharpens only one side of the lead, or the lead get wierdly long. I have not been able to get a decent point using the regular side pencil side.

Why is this pencil sharpener so good?
Seriously, I never knew it was that serious to make such a high quality pencil sharpener. But I notice a big difference between using this one and using a plastic one.

I thought I was buying the very large pencil sharpener for the type of pencils the kids use in Kindergarten and first grade. But these were good quality and I just kept them instead of returning them. We always need pencil sharpeners here.
