A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures

My kids LOVE this movie and frankly it's done well enough that I actually don't mind repetitive viewings. There are people saying this is a no go of a film for sensitive kids. My 5 yo is VERY sensitive, but all we needed to do was pause the movie and talk about it a little and then it was fine. There is peril in the ocean for many critters and I think this movie handles it well for the younger set. We opted for this over Nemo because I knew my kids would have nightmares about the big grinning shark (sharks in Turtle Tale were a little scary but not as bad as Nemo or Reef). To the people saying that this film is trying to indoctrinate kids about evil humans and Green Peace...remember that this movie is told in flashback from the viewpoint of a 50 year old turtle. He isn't throwing propaganda, he's simply remembering the details of his experience through the decades when many of us humans used to think nothing of dumping all manner of stuff in the ocean and other groups of us were fairly militant about protecting our natural resources. It's Sammy turtle's life experience and history through his eyes. And it's not a bad thing to show our kids the mistakes we've made with our planet and help them see te benefit of trying to keep it clean.

Perfect for little ones, great story and entertaining

Other members in my 3D group said it was fabulous and it is, the story is a bit of an emotional roller coaster ride (for me = too sensitive) but in the end.... well you'll have to watch it to see. Package was well wrapped and in mint condition, played on my 3D Region B BLU RAY player and my 3d glasses worked great with it. Amazing depth and a few pop outs but that's not really important to me. 3D is done well. There is a bit of an environmental theme (and a love story) to the movie but that is the reality of our world today = if we don't care who will.

We love this movie! My son has watched it 100 times he repeat all the words to it. I love this movie from a parent perspective. I feel like it's got some great aspects to it. Relationships and environmental care. The oil spill was something we were able to talk about and research further. He learned a lot about recycling and how to keep our environment clean so that the next generation can enjoy the beauty our earth has to offer. We talk about friendships and even though people leave you stay friends and can reunite. This isn't one of those annoying kids movie either I enjoy watching it with my kids and talking to them about different parts of the movie. The music in it is great too I really enjoy all the songs and we sing them regularly. If you are thinking of purchasing this movie for you and your family you should do it. You won't be sorry it's really adorable!

This was a great movie I even purchased the second one my daughter loved it so much. I enjoyed it myself as well. My daughter asks to watch these everyday. If your looking for a fun kids movie with adventure I recommend these movies.

A Turtles Tale does not get enough attention! As a mom I look for movies that are not gross, have no magic or underlying adult jokes. This movie is all that and more. From the day Sammy is born the video sucks you in and holds the attention of even the adult viewer but young children. Sammy has adventures that take him around the world so children get a bit of geography and science too! This is a very clean, non scary, well produced movie with wonderful graphics that are full of color and detail. The ocean and life of the turtles come to life and love conquers all! I will watch this again and again!!

I watched this with my kids, who range in ages from 2-10 and we all enjoyed it very much! Its like a turtle version of Disneys finding Nemo! with a little bit of a twist that makes it relateable for older kids but still relateable for the younger ones too, it was PERFECT in my opinion. It shows sammy the turtle from hatching out of his egg and the obsticles he has to over come to get from his egg to the water, and all the other ocean creatures he comes in contact with while trying to find his mate, shelly who he has loved sinced he was a hatchling. Well my family and I all highly recommend this movie and hope that you enjoy sammys adventure as much as we did.

My 7 year old daughter wanted to watch this movie over and over again so I ended up getting the DVD so she could take it on vacation. It is such a nice story and as an adult I actually enjoyed it very much although I get tired of watching animated movies, this one is really cute. It also explains about animal rescue and how important it is to keep our oceans clean. I would compare it to Nemo. If you liked Nemo, you will definitively like Sammy.

Great graphics, storyline, music and character voices.

Ok everyone who has a 3D tv and 3D bluray needs to get this. This is the best 3D movie ever. If you love 3D that literally comes off the screen from the very start, you will love and have to have this in your collection. I saw this in the cinema after being blown away by the trailer. This to me is the only 3D bluray that can test the range of your new 3D bluray player. The whole movie is in proper stand out 3D, this is the 3D i love. Without being too gimmicky(and what's wrong with that?) the 3D draws you into this marine world of Sammy's and the dangers of the deep. Ben Strassen used to direct the big screen IMAX movies in 3D. He has always been a pioneer of 3D long before James Cameron revealed his own in-depth 3D with Avatar. My fave movie that Strassen did was Encounters in the third Dimension which featured the beautiful Elvira. It was a short movie. Then he broke into feature length 3D movies with Fly me to the moon which was brilliant in 3D, now he has another great 3D movie under his directors belt. A turtle tale is a story that both kids and adults will love. The story follows a young turtle called Sammy from his birth when he breaks out of his egg (this scene is perfect for kids, they will reach out and want to help the little Sammy during this scene, even i did) to his adult life and finally to his older life. All the time, you have water almost coming over the screen, it actually looked like it would flood the floor outside the TV. Sharks swim right at you, Piranhas come out at you, in a way that would put Piranha 3D to shame. Snakes slither out of the screen and even the turtles swam at you and away from you. This movie is an absolute 3D treat and so un to watch. But this movie also carries a message and it is an ecological one. One that does need to be taken notice of. When a film makes you ashamed of being a human, you know that it has done something right. This has been dubbed so many times for americans, french (where it originates from) and this british version. This contains some great british actors starting with the great John Hurt as Sammy when he's older. Giving the wisdom of an older turtle and telling the story as the adventure unfolds, Strassen has the younger Sammy voiced by Dominic Cooper (from the devil's double and Mamma Mia) while the love interest is played exceptionally by the lovely Gemma Alterton (Prince of Persia, Clash of the titans (2009) and St trinians. Along the way they meet some strange yet unforgettable characters,one of which had me in stitches. You will know who she is when you see her (small spoiler! she fights a shark that attacks her). This is a film for all ages and it is not too sickly for adults either. I throughly enjoyed watching this and it is easily my fave 3D film I have on 3D bluray.

Die kleine Schildkröte Sammy (gesprochen von Matthias Schweighöfer) erlebt auf der Suche nach der geheimen Passage ein Abenteuer nach dem anderen. Er verliert seinen Kumpel Ray (gesprochen von Axel Stein), sucht seine "Jugendliebe" Shelly (gesprochen von Lena Meyer-Landrut) und verirrt sich dabei ins arktische Meer. 85 Minuten Unterhaltung für die ganze Familie! Die Story ist nicht weltbewegend, aber der Film ist sehr süß gemacht und es gibt an vielen Stellen etwas zu lachen. Im Vordergrund steht aber definitiv der 3D-Effekt, hier wird das Maximum aus der Technik rausgeholt, ein Effekt jagt den nächsten! Im Vergleich zu anderen 3D Filmen (auch Animationsfilme) hat Sammys Abenteuer eindeutig die Nase vorn, diese Scheibe ist absolute Referenz. Man hat das Gefühl das Wasser läuft aus dem Fernseher, die Fische springen einem entgegen, Vögel fliegen durchs Wohnzimmer und und und. Sehr viele Popouts, z.B. die Schnäbel der Vögel, die einem fast das Auge ausstechen, eine Schlange, die aus dem Fernseher geschossen kommt (siehe Foto), rasante Kamerafahrten und eine unglaubliche Tiefe! Einfach fantastisch! Dabei handelt es sich um eine belgische Produktion, weit entfernt von Hollywood, Disney und Co. Die deutsche Synchronisation ist sehr gut und mit Matthias Schweighöfer und Lena in den "Hauptrollen" top besetzt. Leider hat die englische Originalsprache ihren Weg nicht auf die BluRay gefunden, schade! Die deutsche Tonspur liegt in DTS HD Master 5.1 vor und punktet mit den richtig platzierten Effekten und einem stimmungsvollen Soundtrack. Das Bonusmaterial ist durchschnittlich und beschäftigt sich in erster Linie mit der Synchronisation (Musik-Clip mit Lena, Interviews mit den Sprechern, Making Of im Tonstudio etc.) dazu noch ein paar Trailer und eine Rubrik "Wissenswertes" (für Kinder). Für mich momentan der beste 3D Film, ich bin gespannt auf Teil 2 (November 2012 im Kino). Fazit: Story 4/5 Ton 5/5 Bild 6/5 ;-) Somit satte und glatte 5 Punkte für diesen süßen Real 3D Familienfilm!

Les images de ce dessin animé ont était faite pour du 3d ! Une histoire simple mais agréable, les aventures d'une tortue avant de devenir adulte et partir à la recherche d'un amour de jeunesse. Vous ne verrez pas le temps passer. C'est confirmé c'est un superbe film ! J'avais posté mon commentaire après avoir vue le film au cinéma, quand j'ai pré commandé le BD3D de l'extraordinaire voyage de Samy. Comme d'habitue Amazon tiens ses promesse, tant en livraison que pour le prix de ses produits en pré commande, j'ai bénéficié de la baise du prix qui a eu lieu, et mon produit est arrivé le jour de sa sortie, donc très bien pour Amazon ! Passons à ce Blu Ray 3D, peine la cellophane retiré, la ballette Blu ray est dans le lecteur, d'ailleurs pour ceux qui n'ont pas encore de lecteur Blu Ray 3D, il y a la version DVD dans le boitier pour le même prix ! Techniquement, l'animation et la réalisation 3D est un pur bijoux, d'ailleurs les vendeurs d'écran 3D devrait s'en servir pour faire la promotion de leur matériel, c'est une immersion totale dans le film, encore une fois je trouve la 3d plus efficace sur mon TV qu'au cinéma, tous les plans ont été calculé pour de la 3D et c'est la perfection, de la finesse et de l'efficacité, le graphisme et les couleurs de ce dessin sont d'une précision redoutable, seul le 'monde de ga'hole' doit être supérieur, (il est sorti aux USA hier, je l'ai commandé un amazon.com, j'attend la livraison.) L'Histoire, d'une petite tortue attachante Samy à qui il arrive mille péripéties avant qu'il atteigne son but, sa rencontre avec les hommes qui peuvent faire le meilleur comme le pire pour la nature, l'amitié, l'amour, tout y est, pour passer un agréable moment en famille. Les BD3D, ne sont pas légions, mais ce n'est pas pour cela qu'il faut acheter n'importe quoi ! Vous aimez la 3D ? Alors n'hésitez pas foncez achetez ce Blu ray 3D. Un Superbe cadeau de Noël ! Attention ce Blu ray 3D est conçu pour les nouveaux TV 3D et lecteur Blu Ray 3D, même si un DVD vous permet de le regarder en 2D sur toutes les platines 2D
