Great little mid-sized Brass padlock, not super easy to pick (was bought for locksport practice) Lock is very well made and far superior to anything Master Lock has in it's class size. I would fully recommend this to a friend!

Seems like it's well constructed and should work well for low-security applications. I bought it for locksport practice and the 4 spool pin setup was easy to pick open within a day. A great locksport lock for beginners looking to get comfortable with spool pin behavior.

Using for locksport, was challenging compared to the similar Masterlock. The ABUS 55/40 has 4 pins, 3 of which are spools and they give a better feedback than on the Masterlock. Open keyway. Great lock for beginners to advance skills.

Like all Abus locks, this is a very well made, very high quality lock. Unlike a lot of Abus locks, it’s not a particularly secure lock; it doesn’t have any security pins. I was able to zip it open in less than a minute using my minimal Bogata pick set. It does have double locking lugs, rather than ball bearing detents, making it vulnerable to shimming. This vulnerability and the lack of security pins are not a major factors for my use, which is on the lockers at a local gym that are out in the open and under the eye of a TV camera. So don’t use this for you bicycle, or to secure a locker where your keys and wallet are, or for anything of real value. For low security uses, like preventing curious people from opening boxes, it’s fine, and at only $11 it’s a good value.

Good quality lock

I purchased this lock for Lock sport. It's a challenging lock to pick For novice lock pickers. Many Master locks can be opened in a few seconds with a bypass tool, while this ABUS is much trickier to get open. This is an affordable lock that I would feel adequately secure using. It has good build quality with good level of tolerances for the money.

This company has been around forever. They specialize in high quality,high security locking devices. There locks cost a fortune for the most part. Due to the build material and engineering behind them. They are preffered by insurance companies for high risk mitigation. At this price you cant go wrong. They come with two keys.

This is my first Abus lock, not purchasing these locks to use in TBD traditional ways. They are purchased to lock pick. Coming from Cheap Chinese and a Variety of Master Locks u was presently surprised with how smooth the. Pins are. This was an absolute pleasure to pick compared to other brands the fit/finish and machining its top notch. Looking forward to aquiring other Abus brands to pick. Got my orange Belt for this lock. would definitely recommend this lock if one is Looking for a good quality lock that is built to last

It's held up fine through an Atlantic Canadian winter, and didn't break when a kid from the local Christian academy was smashing the thing on my shed (the hasp it was attached to gave way first, but gave me time to chase them off.)
