Redragon M811 Wired RGB MMO Gaming Mouse 10000 DPI Remapping Keys

I've been using this for about a week. It's not perfect (I have yet to find a mouse with the just-right combination of features and configuration that I would consider the ideal) but comes closest. Pros: Good build quality for the price Excellent (almost ideal) side-buttons configuration (mix of 2 larger and 8 smaller programmable buttons). Much preferable to the more common 12-button grid. It's the best setup I could find, even compared to others three times its price, which is why it seems only fair to give it 5 stars even though it's not perfect. Very high mapping configurability - Every button except the Mode Switch is programmable, even the left and right click. Program buttons to Shortcuts, Browser and OS actions, Media actions, Individual keys, custom gaming control, Mouse Configs (DPI/Mode), or Macros. You can also set up different modes, meaning you aren't limited to one control set. Maybe you have one for web browsing, another for FPS games, another for Photoshop, etc. An unexpected plus; I was surprised to find the mouse apparently stores its programmed commands locally; I am able to use it with my work computer (via KVM switch) without installing the software locally - it remembers the commands I programmed on my home computer. Cons: It's a little too big, at least for me - feels huge in my hand (male M/L glove size). A pretty big gripe for me is the matte coating on the clicker buttons. It collects oil (fingerprints) and immediately starts to rub off from use. I know it's minor but just a distasteful and unnecessary design choice, though it seems destined to self-correct over time by wearing away. This design would work better with the large (B/F) buttons sitting below the grid of smaller buttons (more of a resting position for the thumb). And as others have noted, the software UI is pretty unintuitive. The Save button to commit changes is labeled "Stop" which is confusing. As far as I'm aware there is no left-handed version of this, for those who prefer one. Wish list: If this had a thumbstick or d-pad and switched the position of the F/B buttons and the button grid, it would be ideal. With a screen for programming buttons (instead of using software), it would be unstoppable. Wot's uh... the deal? If you're just generally wondering why a programmable mouse, extra buttons, or why this particular unusual config, the possibilities are endless and highly personal. I have mine setup around enhanced navigability as well as one-handed operations of Shift-Click, Ctrl+Click, and Zoom (Ctrl+Scroll). 1 = Arrow Up 2 = PageUp 3 = Arrow Down 4 = PageDown 5 = Arrow Left 6 = Arrow Right 7 = Ctrl 8 = Shift Middle Click 2 = Home Middle Click 3 = End Other common uses: one-button actions for Show desktop, Media control, Enter, Escape, Undo, Gaming shortcuts, etc.

The mouse itself is great. The mouse itself is ergonomic and easy to grip. The buttons are all programmable (even the left/right click), have clear haptic feedback, and are easy to tell apart without looking at them. However, Redragon's software department has been historically a 6/10. My main issue is with the macro creator: - It is impossible to reorder macros without exporting, deleting, then reimporting them in order. - There is NO warning or confirmation on destructive actions such as rerecording/deleting/clearing macros. It's just gone if you misclick. This is especially bad considering the delete macro button is just labeled "-". - Once you record a macro, there is no way to insert more keyboard keys without completely rerecording the macro. However, there's a UI to manually add in mouse actions. Why not also have keyboard keys? - The macros sometimes just don't work. They allow millisecond-precision timing in the UI, but in practice the timing feels completely random. As well as that, sometimes it just doesn't press a button in the macro. This specifically has caused me to stop using them a few months after purchase.

This is very comfortable and works well! It has a very long cord, good ergonomics and the buttons are pretty easy to use. It’s fairly light, quiet and I haven’t had a single problem it yet after a couple years. I’d say definitely worth the money. My only gripe is I don’t know if there’s a way to disable the lighting. I’m not fond of everything being RGB so it does bug me that I can’t disable that feature.

This is a relatively inexpensive gaming mouse. The buttons on the side are easy to tap for games that require quick slotting like Outward.

I have used this mouse for a few hours to play Apex and to browse the internet: While it is a good value for the money, some fairly significant design oversights make it a poor product. First, the ergonomics are immediately compromised, and I have to imagine it is not just due to my hands (Which are fairly normal, maybe a bit small). I can barely lift it without pressing the side buttons. Even in this browsing session, I've hit the buttons trying to lift the mouse. Once it's warmed up and I can get that perfect grip on it, I can start to move it, but it's still annoying. The other huge sin is the programming software. It is very unintuitive and forces the user to set up 5 profiles, no more and no less. Sorry, 5 Modes, but Modes are based on Profiles, but both appear at once, but the selection list shows all 5 profiles, plus your custom profiles. But you're actually switching modes, which are set by the profiles. It makes no sense at all. And, since you are forced to use 5 profiles, you cannot simply program a profile for each application (Such as Text, Game and Browse). In the process of writing this review, I also discovered I could not launch the programmer, so I had to uninstall-reinstall it, which cleared all profiles I had stored with the program. The profiles I had stored outside of the program were useless anyway, because they have to be manually saved, which I was not aware of. The RGB customization is limited, but at least you can set a 'Breathing' profile for your preferred color. This is not to say the product is terrible (The software is definitely terrible): The mousing action itself is very smooth (Much better than my previous, to the point where I immediately feel more confident playing my FPS). All the buttons feel good and consistent and sound good. And it is functional. After getting my profiles (Sorry, my Modes) sorted out, I was able to use it to great effect in game. I am already planning my replacement path for this product, but at least it wasn't expensive and it fills the gap.

I bought the M811. It had much better quality than expected and the buttons and wheel had just the right feel. I did not buy this for gaming but for stock trading so I could put hot keys on the side. I liked the fact this MMO mouse had less side keys than other and this is a plus. The keys are spaced enough to help avoid using the wrong button. The other MMO mice side buttons are too close. I would recommend this for professional use. This does not use a scripting language to set up the hotkeys, just a way to record key sequences. If you need advanced scripting for hot keys there is "autohotkey" which can be used with any mouse.

Don't buy this mouse unless you have a degree in computer engineering. I know a lot of people gave it a really good review. But that's only because they somehow already knew how the software works and was able to get some use out of it. For those of us like myself who are new to using more complex mice with many buttons, forget it. Apparently Redragon would rather keep how to use these profile software programs a big secret. First of all, the software itself is not intuitive at all. You will NOT figure out how to use it simply by looking at the buttons and menu options. In fact, some things seem like they would be obvious. But they're not. Things won't work like you THINK they're going to work. Like, for instance, I never did figure out how to do something as idiot-simple as binding a single key to a mouse button. That SHOULD be intuitive and easy to figure out. But it's not -- and you'll just drive yourself crazy wondering why it isn't working when clearly it should. What's worse is that there are no manuals or help docs anywhere. Not online, not in print. There's not even a pdf file one can download or even look at. You are on your own. I know what you might be thinking: "Oh, I'll just look on the internet. No doubt someone posted a tutorial ... right?" Not really no. The ONLY two things "help" videos tell you how to do are messing with lighting effects and macros. There are a dozen videos about how to make macros -- which in itself is stupidly complicated -- but there are NOTHING on the internet that explains how to do something simple. Like bind a single key to one of the side buttons. There is nothing. And if you do a search on the problem, all you'll find are forum posts with other people complaining about the problem. But there are no solutions. The big issue people seem to have is that ... let's say you want to bind the "E" key to Side Button 1. The default key for Side Button 1 is the number 1. So, intuitively, you would think that you could select Side Button 1, go to the dropdown menu, select "Advance" and then "Single Key." Then tap the "E" key and the letter "E" replaces the number 1 in the box below the menu. Then you click "Apply" and wow --- done! So then you decide to assign the "F" key to Side Button 2. You repeat the same process as before and then, again, click "Apply." But when you click on Side Button 1 -- guess what. That button reset itself so that, once again, the number 1 is assigned to Side Button 1. Somehow, the letter "E" has disappeared entirely. When you go back to Side Button 2 -- yep, same thing. Now Side Button 2 is now assigned the number 2 and the letter "F" has disappeared. You can assign buttons the keys you want all the live long day, but the moment you click a different button, the last button you changed will reset back to default. There is NO way to do something as simple as assigning a single key to a button. And as I said, there are no tutorials or videos or docs that explain this. The help video uploaders are all in love with their macros and none of them have bothered to give a tutorial on the basics. So unless you already know what you're doing -- don't bother with this mouse. The unintuitive software and the complete lack of instructions make this a lousy buy for anyone who isn't already well-versed in how to set up profiles. Oh yeah -- one thing, too, is that you'll get all kinds of mystifying pop-ups like, for instance, if you try to change profiles, a pop-up will appear saying, "This profile is already in use!" Yeah. No idea. No idea whatsoever. So unless you want to spend $40 on a three-button mouse, skip this. I guarantee you will not get it to work unless you already know what you're doing. Oh, and did I mention that it crashes? Yeah -- it does that, too. After engaging in the futile act of trying to assign a single key to a mouse button, it will eventually simply crassh -- and the screen will disappear. So apparently it's not even a stable piece of unintuitive garbage.

4:45PM 20JUN2024 Found it and thought I would write it down and share it here: INstructions* for Redragon Aatrox M811 RGB-PRO Get software at:>> https://www.redragonzone.com/pages/download Make sure you have the software for your “exact model”, this is an issue since a few are similar enough in name. 1) Open MAIN, The Top of 4 buttons on left panel, just under Redragon logo - you will see the side and top view of the mouse 2) Select KEY SETTING button directly under picture of mouse (1 thru 15) I’ll use button 3 in this example Choose #3 and it turns RED. A small selection box will open right under the numbers, left click the arrow box and select Key combination, another box opens and just put the key stroke you want in this box (use the check boxes if you wish to alter the format) (I don’t). 3) It will show the letter you chose hit OK. Then… 4) Hit the APPLY button – bottom middle of the main screen box. I do this for every key I mod. Just my way of doing it and it works for me! I hope this helps… It is easy to get lost in this sea of tech we live in. *Verses OUTstructions (silly humans attempt at humor). I am old enough to have been the TV remote control. (1960s) 20 JUN 2024 This A.M. My software seemed to have reverted to some other version (although it did not) and reprograming it has been unsuccessful. It dumped the side button programing and It seems rather un-intuitive. I will try to find the video that I used the 1st time (YouTube). I tried 4 times to contact Customer Support and no luck the page just kept telling me my CAPTTCHA thing was missing (yes reloaded page to update etc.) and the hoops they make you jump thru are exccesive (Like order number, Really??)... It is though they do not really want to help you, after all. I will find the answer - somehow, but it should not be this difficult, IF YOU CARED ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPIENESS! Nuff said. Just leave it to us kind hearted smart people to solve your problems, I did my part (see above). The Secret of Redragon is the software - Use it, program your mouse, apply settings and you never have to open it until you want to change something. You can do it all in a compact no frills interface. Select a button, tell it which key you want to emulate and "apply it", it gets stored on the mouse and stays there till you change it with or 'without macros'. Same with the customisable LED Lighting and polling rates, etc. (I do wish they could match the Advanced Scale Settings in windows, so it matches the larger size I need to read it.) But I can do it. If you've owned any other brand of MMO style mouse, you have had the annoyance of their "PROprietary annoyingly intrusive software that just eats at the soul. I just want to play my game and not join a fraternity or sorority of other "Mouse Owners of the World". Yes (MOotW). Fits me like a glove and my big hands, can reach all the buttons. I think they miss out big - by not screaming from the rooftops just how much better their programing software is... as the best thing to happen to mice owners, since the mouse was invented. I use mine about 8-10 hours a day and has helped me play a better game. And their Customer Service is spot on and when I had an issue - they took care of me quickly. There are YouTube videos on the programing software if you need it (I did) but it took 10 minutes and turned out to be so simple (and I was born in the 1950's) AND no soul sucking computer big brother included! We Win!!!

Llevo usándolo intensivamente desde que lo compré, para jugar MMO's y otros juegos. Después de aporrear los botones durante bastantes horas, puedo decir que es de calidad, sigue perfecto. Los botones son muy cómodos y a pesar de tener la mano pequeña, llego a todos y los puedo utilizar. Si estás acostumbrada a ratones de dos botones laterales este es perfecto porque los sigues manteniendo y ganas otros 8. No es ligero, pero no pesa demasiado, es algo a tener en cuenta si sueles levantar el ratón con la mano para moverlo, pero con los días te acostumbras. La app es bastante intuitiva y te da muchas opciones de personalización para hacer macros, etc.
