Liquitex BASICS Matte Varnish, 250ml (8.4oz) Bottle

liquitex to me has always been one excellent product smooth ,easy-to-use, great coverage and finish but it is pricey i adore the product but I only buy when there is a price reduction because the small bottles are so pricey but if you can afford the higher price its a excellent product.

It was easy to apply, and left my paintings with a better finish.

Works as expected. Clear acrylic medium. No issues. Great for hobbyists.

I used it to seal acrylic paint on a dino mask. I was worried that it wasn't going to dry right because it was very white and opaque at first. But within 24 hours it dried completely clear and matte. The paint looks exactly the same as when I painted it. I have not tested it outside yet but it feels like it will be durable Note: It will thin your paint if it's not completely fully dry. Some parts of my mask had been dry for weeks. Some had been recently painted over 2 days prior to adding the varnish. The recently painted areas (even though the paint was dry to the touch) bled a little bit. I just made sure I painted those areas first and let them dry before painting the other areas. If you don't have large areas you can paint separately, WAIT to varnish

A great product that I use on all my finished paint by number kits to protect the painting.

I've used several different brands of matte acrylic varnish and this is by far my favorite because it's the only one I've tried so far that actually dries with a true matte finish! Others I've tried have left a sheen when dry, some more shiny than others. This brand doesn't. It's a really good value, too. Highly recommend. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I am highly sensitive to smells, but this has no smell. I use a foam brush to apply, then wash it out well with soap and water. It washes out easily. If you want a higher shine, glassy effect, apply multiple layers. However be careful--just because it is dry does not mean it is "cured". I have found it is easy to scratch the surface of it until it has had several days to thoroughly set. Note: If your product gets thick after a long period (2 yrs., in my case), DO NOT try to water it down, even though it is water-based. It left a white haze on my projects. My fault; I should have tested it on a scrap piece to verify it wouldn't be affected.

Really easy to use It left no streaks I used it with diamond dust to give my canvas a sparkly shimmer
