## Questions & Answers

**Q: what's the difference between this device and other cheaper devices on amazon. there is a lot of price difference.**
A: I am going to throw my two cents worth in, although the others have already answered this question very well. The main differences between the B1 and cheaper devices are range and sound quality. The B1 has far better range, even for devices which do not produce a strong emitting signal. Also, the sound quality is much much better. The reason I purchased the B1 is because I have a high end stereo and the cheaper bluetooth receiver I had produced a noticeably poorer sound. I mainly use this with a Sony high definition (HD) music player (using FLAC lossless files) or sometimes with an iPod Touch (using 320 kbs MP3 files). The FLAC files especially would point out the flaws of the cheaper Bluetooth receiver, whereas the clarity of the music using the B1 is excellent.

**Q: Can i connect my a+5 and dac1 to this so all devices benefit from wireless transmissions and better sound?**
A: Yes. The B1 comes with an onboard DAC as part of the package. I bypass the internal DAC through a Kimber Toslink cable, in favor of my musical fidelity v90 DAC. Whether you use your DAC, the B1's, the blue tooth receiver will give you access to all of your music stored in the cloud or or locally on your smartphone or other device.

**Q: Can I connect 2 of these 2 different stereos in my home, and choose which one to listen to at the moment? How do they appear when pairing ?**
A: Yes, I use 3 of them, two in two different rooms and one in the car. They each get a unique Bluetooth GUID, and the way you switch depends on which phone you are using. On iOS/Apple when a Bluetooth audio out is available, you go to settings/Bluetooth and connect to the receiver you want to play to. They will all be listed as "audioengine B1", but there will be two of them there. One for each room.

**Q: Does anyone know how to turn off the B1 or stop the blinking light when the B1 isn't in use? It's been blinking for a couple hours now.**
A: No way to turn it off. But there are several way to solve this issue1. In my case, I plug it in the switched outlet of my Marantz SR7002, so whenever I turn on my receiver, it will be on also.2. You could use a small piece of black electrical tape to cover the light portBut why are you doing this? It bothers you while watching movie??? Then place it inside the media center. Another the thing, when the light blinks, meaning it's not connected/paired to any device, which is good. Why you want to turn it off?? It doesn't comsume much of electricity though.Your wireless router plus the DSL modem consume even more energy compared to this tiny Bluetooth device. You spend 200 bucks on this audiophile quality Bluetooth but worry about it continue running??? Then you return it and buy those 20 dollar cheap quality one on eBay so you could switch it off manually
