I love Tapo cameras. This is my second one as the first one was so simple to install and connect, the app allows you to have up to 36 cameras to be connected to the same device. The video quality is amazing for the price of the camera. I like all the different setting on the camera so you can focus in exactly where you want the camera to pick up any movement. You can also turn on function like person detection, Line crossed detection, camera tampering, you can also turn on a alarm which is great if you see someone on your property. The night vision is great (tip, if you are using the camera pointing out of a window turn off the night mode and then the camera will be able to see out of the glass) I like the LED functioning lights so you and others know that the camera is working. Even though the camera is not the smallest people do not notice it, so its good that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb on your property. Another tip - purchase a good quality Micro SD card as the cheap ones can sometimes cause problems with the camera unable to record. The Tapo app is so easy to use which is a big sell to me as I want to be able to see quickly what is going on outside. Ill defiantly be buying more Tapo cameras in the future.

These are very good and superb value though it must be noted they need a direct 9 volt power supply, they are not battery powered. The clever bracket allows several mounting options and there is no need for subscriptions as they record to a micro sd card and the recordings can be viewed and downloaded via the app. - there is also a live view option with record and snap shot functions.. Night vision is good and can be enhanced with a switchable light and the camera can be set to track the movement detected. The only little gripe is that the app does not allow individual notification sounds to be assigned to each unit. I bought the first one last September for the front and a second one in March for the back of the house and am delighted with them

Good camera I have bought a few of these: good night time picture and clear. Sound quality is good snd very easy to connect to the Tapo app. Easy to mount and comes with all the fixtures very easy instal.

Great, much improved over previous versions. What to know. Install at a decent spot, to make use of the auto tracking if you need to. Get a power extension cable as you'll probably need it. It's a 9v system, like the other Tapo cameras, annoyingly. There is no PoE option for this camera, again, that's quite annoying. Picture quality, excellent, it has white light LEDs for night time, but they have an auto time out of 5 mins. Audio, good, but depends on your network connection, if you get connection drop, the audio and picture will of course suffer. Mounting is easy, 2 screws, there's a template inside too. Micro SD card, well, interesting. As this is the first outdoor camera that I have from Tapo that doesn't use screws to secure the flap. Which, given it was easy to strip the head off the C310 series, makes sense, plus it's on the moving part, so a rubber flap should be ok. However, mine decided to be 'not recognised' randomly, no idea why. The fix was to remove it, blow the inside out, wipe the micro sd terminals and remount. (I had a new micro sd card on standby also) and it worked ! Motion detection - yes, but moving plants and trees will set it off, and the AI is still learning, so shadows will be called 'People' at times. It does detect Vehicles, Movement, and Pets, so if you are looking for a particular event type, this can help. Would I buy again or recommend to others ? Yes. It's cheap, no subscription or hub needed, sure there are better options that cost a LOT more, and some rather crappy lesser ones, such as Blink, which doesn't give you 24/7 record option, so missed things. I've got 1 more to set up, and an older C310 (fixed type, no AI etc), but has directional line crossing and intrusion features that work well.

The Tapo C530WS Pan/Tilt Outdoor Security Camera gives excellent, clear images both day and night, and the 360° vision is a big advantage for covering larger areas without blind spots. The 3K 5MP resolution is really impressive, and the motion detection works very well, sending quick and accurate alerts. It’s easy to set up through the Tapo app and simple to control remotely, even when away from home. The pan and tilt feature is smooth and responsive, making it easy to keep an eye on everything. Build quality feels solid and weatherproof, ideal for outdoor use. Overall, another brilliant camera from Tapo — reliable, great image quality, and fantastic value for money

First I have to say this is the 4th TAPO camera I bought, and for a reason. I also have TC70 and C310P2 x 2 outdoor cameras. On a budget, you get very very good software, solid quality and amazing functionality. GOOD STUFF: 1. Super easy and straight forward setup. Never had an issue with this with any of the cameras from Tapo - works like clockwork. 2. Great Picture quality both day & night time. For day time you'd probably expect nowadays, but night time is really amazing. Colour night vision with 360 degree horizontal and 130 degree vertical cover. 3. Amazing and precise movement & person detection, as well as activity zones and line crossing detection. Also, there is a motion tracing option so if needed - the tracking object won't be lost out of the view. 4. Great & quick notifications including reach notifications, so you can receive not just a message but also a snapshot of person/object or action captured. 5. Great functionality and customisation in general, including: Privacy Zones & Privacy Mode, scheduling, smart actions like on/off depending if you're home, patrol mode, etc. 6. Of course it's waterproof, with IP65 rating - just be sure to install it correctly, not upside down! 7. Great customisable alarm functionality where you can adjust both sounds & light alarm. Yes, it won't wake the whole street up, but it is loud enough for a device of this size. You can even record your own voice with spicy insults to make sure no thief remains indifferent. So even if they steal - their ego will be forever damaged. 8. In terms of storage - if you need to store the recordings you can use an SD card and store for free or you have an option to subscribe and store in the cloud. It's not super expensive in this regard comparing with some other mainstream brands. 9. Great software in general that lets you build or / and unify different Tapo devices for a smart home setup. CONS / TO NOTE: - I've got good connectivity, but want to note I have a strong router. Generally any camera or wireless device will depend a lot on the router and positioning, especially considering that it hangs outside. You can test yours before hanging, especially if your setup or plan allows options. Overall, that's a quality product. Recommend & picky engineer approved. To be honest, this is the first first camera I have purchased, and I was so impressed by it that I purchased the C510W the same day with next day delivery, from Amazon. Setup was a little fiddly due to bandwidth with full fibre, but after temporarily disabling 5k the device picked up 2.4 easily and connected without issue. The micro SD card, (not supplied), requires formatting and this is done through the phone app. It's probably best to purchase a new one, as it suggests not formatting through any other device, such as laptop etc. Here, if I had anything to complain about, would be it. Accessing the SD card slot. Such fiddly little screws that I spent more time locating a screwdriver that would fit than actually installing the camera through drilling holes, (little template provided), to setup on the app. (I then purchased a screwdriver set). The picture quality is pretty good but unable to read car registration numbers some 30 metres away approximately, hence the purchase of the C510W which is 2k resolution where this is 1080p. That said, it's ideal for detecting and tracking individuals that approach or enter into your property, it's just when you zoom it becomes pixilated. The app which you scan the QR code for on the instructions leaflet, is easy to follow and actually necessary for formatting the SD card. You have the option of cloud storage for a fee, or recording to the micro SD card which is a one off cost of the price of the card. The setup of the 2nd device I purchased was very quick and easy, already having the app installed, it was just a case of add device. It appears that there is room for 32 devices, too, so inside and outside the home, along with garage and shed and anywhere else you can think of where 32 devices could go should be a doddle. Overall, it is a sturdy piece of kit and the price is excellent, (currently on offer). As stated, I was so impressed that I bought the 2k C510W to capture car registrations should the need ever arise.

This is my fifth Tapo camera and they all perform very well. I combine them with Kingston branded micro usb cards for storage and have not had any problems with initializing the cards as I have read in some other reviews. I find the 1080p provides a clear picture during the day and adequate night time depending on the distance. If I was using this for a business to protect against vandalism I would probably go with the 2 or 4 k versions. The software that they provide is versatile as well. One feature I like is the ability to save views so a single click pans to a preset rather than having to move the camera manually. Tracking feature is also nice.
