These are too thin (transparent). Does Avery make a thicker label that would cover any marks or writing underneath the sticker?

Can you print a background color on the labels?

If you have the right settings on your computer to go with the label. Avery gives templates based on label. Ink jet printers run better then large office printers. Due to the difference in heat

I am using a hp officejet pro 8600 plus; how do i set these up for printing?

On Avery.com/print you can search for this product (5202) to find templates to get started with your design. However, we would recommend checking your printer's settings to make sure that it has a paper size setting for 4"x6" sheets. If your printer has an option to feed the sheet through a manual feed tray then that will be ideal as well.
