It’s meow or never in this first graphic novel in the bestselling CatStronauts series about four cat-tastic astronauts and their mission to save Earth. When the world is thrust into darkness due to a global energy shortage, the Worlds Best Scientist comes up with a bold plan to set up a solar power plant on the moon. But someone has to go up there to set it up, and that adventure falls to the CatStronauts, the best space cats on the planet! Meet the fearless commander Major Meowser, brave-but-hungry pilot Waffles, genius technician and inventor Blanket, and quick thinking science officer Pom Pom on their most important mission yet! In this full-color graphic novel, author/illustrator Drew Brockington breathes life into a world populated entirely by cats, brimming with jokes, charm, science, and enough big boxes and tuna sandwiches for everyone! Read all the CatStronauts Adventures: Mission Moon (#1) Race to Mars (#2) Space Station Situation (#3) Robot Rescue (#4) Slapdash Science (#5) Digital Disaster (#6) Cosmic Clutter (#7) Module Mayhem (#8) Review: Excellent book for young readers! - I purchased the book because, well, my boy loves space, and he's a pretty avid reader if you can wrest the tablets, phones, TV, and video games from his hands. When I got home yesterday, though, I opened up the package containing CatStronauts: Mission Moon and showed it to my boy he was in awe. This is his first graphic novel, so I wasn't sure how things would go. He immediately abandoned the tablet and sat in the middle of the living room for an hour reading the entire book out loud. He's finishing kindergarten, so not all the words are familiar to him and he needed some help, but he understood most of the jokes. The author was able to effectively balance humor and tension in a potentially... cat-astrophic situation so well that my boy couldn't put it down. When it was bed time he asked me to finish the story really quickly so he wouldn't have to wonder how it ended. This is a true success for Mr Brockington, and I'm excited to read Race to Mars with my son tonight. Review: Best book about cats who are astronauts ever! - Submitted on behalf of my son- I really liked this book. The pictures had lots of details and the plot seemed very unique because it involves cats going to the moon. I'm pretty sure there are no other books like this. I really like the character diversity, ranging from scientists to astronauts, robots, the President of the United States, and Neil Armstrong. And all of them are cats. This book was super funny with all sorts of hilarious hidden details and puns. In short Catsronauts, Mission Moon is a great book.

Excellent for a science-focused 7-year-old
A relative sent us two of the Catstronauts books and my son (age 7) loved them so much we immediately had to buy the rest of the series. He was able to read them to himself and thoroughly enjoyed the storylines. The whole series is an excellent (but gentle) step forward for readers who are done with Captain Underpants and Dogman - there is more challenging vocabulary sprinkled throughout, but not so much that it's daunting to a reader still gaining confidence.

Great for introducing chapter books
I wanted something to engage my toddler, maybe with some independent “reading” (looking at pictures 😄 of course). While introducing chapters. Worked great. Read it a little too fast maybe (short chapters). So is now looking for something with longer or more chapters. Love the cats in space!

Cute graphic novel
Cute book. My daughter loved it and asked for the next ones in the series. The graphics are drawn well and she laughed out loud at some of the pages. I wish they offered a box set with all of the books or a one book collection with all of them combined as they aren’t very long.

This is perhaps one of the greatest works of fiction for children ever created
This is perhaps one of the greatest works of fiction for children ever created! I loved this book and have read it to all my children multiple times. The artwork is visually creative, witty and colorful. The story line is spellbinding and suspenseful. It's like a nonstop action film with hilarious punchlines and kooky characters. I give this story two thumbs up and 5 out of 5 stars!!

Perfect Book for the Reluctant Reader
This was the perfect book for my 1st grader. She loved it so much we are going to the author signing next week. There is higher level vocabulary, so read it with an adult. Great book to learn about climate change and have fun with space cats!

Makes a wonderful gift
I bought this as a Christmas present but couldn't resist a peak before wrapping it up. The story is imaginative and creative and the different characters are well defined. There's enough detail in the pictures to add to the story without them having to be explained throughout the text so there's a lot to keep interest when re-reading. I belive this comic would appeal equally to both girls and boys as there's no real defined gender roles just cats cast their jobs, although now I think of it I don't recall any of the main Catstronauts being female... The story is clearly based in the US as there's the cat version of the White House and the president so younger UK readers might need some explanation if they're not aware of the US government although just saying "he's the guy in charge" would probably suffice. As an adult it's wonderful to know the author has real life experiences with NASA to draw upon which adds credibility to the story lines. I really hope this is a well received gift as I'd love to buy more of the series. 10/10 would recommend.

Recomendable.

great books
I've gifted a few of this series to an 8-year-old who doesn't usually read much, and they were a big hit! I gifted him a different series after and he was disappointed, so I'll be getting more of these next :)
